Villa is in Kordere, a small area of Kalkan village, on a slopy hill covering the complete Kalkan Bay in sight. Lining the narrow streets winding up from the harbour are typical stone houses with characteristically small shuttered windows and timber balconies. Whitewashed walls, contrasting natural woodwork, charming courtyards, gardens and criss-crossing cobbled passages create the Kalkan atmosphere. Kalkan has undergone a certain amount of modernisation, while still keeping the character of an old town with a rich history and cultural heritage, which is clearly reflected in the traditional buildings to be found in the heart of the community.
The area is the heart of antique Lycia, so that about 40 antique towns are in a 75 km perimeter, some o which are significant cities of antique ages. Furthermore, it is possible to reach small and authentic Turkish villages in the mountain and in the coast in very short time. 14 km Patara beach is just 15 minutes. |
