Guestbook: We had obviously seen the pictures of both the villa and Kalkan before our visit but these did not do either justice. The villa is delightful, light, airy, fantastic pool, beautifully finished and best of all, has the most stunning views. Pure bliss, sitting on the patio area, children enjoying the wonderful infinity pool and looking beyond at the breathtaking view. It is very well fitted and has everything you will need for a perfect holiday.
Kalkan is a 20 minute walk away, not ideal for the feint hearted, but just about manageable. The preferred option for us was the service of the very friendly and reliable Muhittin, who we could not recommend highly enough. One phone call and he would collect or return us, usually in the 10 seater mini-bus, to our desired location. He was also able to offer journeys further afield if desired for sight-seeing. He made transportation so much easier for us and we did not feel it worthwhile to hire a car.
Kalkan itself is a delight, far better than anticipated. The area is very clean, very pretty with a collection of interesting shops (but not too many), some lovely restaurants and for us the added bonus of not one "Jimmy's English bar" or similar, or fruit machine in sight! The harbour makes the area all the more interesting and the beach, although not sand is very clean and offers beautifully clear. Quite lively in the evening but far removed from many holiday hotspots, no drunken groups, no apparent nightclubs but pleasant music and just the right amount of activity with shops open till very late,
We found the people to be very very friendly and pleasant, and although they do try to encourage you to visit their shops and restauarants they are in no way pushy and a polite no thank you is only met by a smile and a greeting for a good day.
We enjoyed a wonderful day on a boat. There are many boats advertising their trips in the harbour and whilst I am sure they are all good we would thoroughly recommend Sunset II and enjoyed the best food of our holiday on the trip. Very friendly crew and a really enjoyable day.
We met several people on our holiday that had villas there and either lived there or visited regularly and we can certainly understand why. We will definetly return.
Should anyone wish to contact us for a reference please do give them my number
