This is our second luxury Turkish style villa with private pool only 300 yards from Villa Zeytin Koru and is set in a walled garden with trees to the front and side offering some privacy to our guests.
Although smaller this villa has been designed for every comfort for use all year round, ideal for those romantic short breaks, luxury self catering family holidays and for those extended stays in retirement, or for those extra guests accompanying those staying at Zeytin Koru.
Location. Villa Orkide is located in the beautiful village of Dalyan in the conservation area of the Turquoise Coast of Turkey, nestled between Koycegiz Lake and Dalyan beach ‘Iztuzu’ voted one of the worlds top ten ‘must visit’ beaches and is the nesting place of ‘caretta caretta’ the endangered loggerhead turtles.
Dalyan retains much of its original charm and has a village community feel, recently designated a special tourism area with no high rise hotels, golf courses are planned and there is one within 20 minutes which is due to be completed in 2007.
Villa Orkide is in a select semi rural position to the south of the town centre and is within a 400 yards of the main street. The neighbouring Turkish houses, cotton fields, stunning view of mountains and ancient rock tombs of the historic ruined city of Caunos ‘Kaunos’, offer visitors to this villa a holiday of visual enchantment.
Only 20 minutes transfer from Dalaman airport, which we can arrange make arrangements for you.
The 46 square metre pool and jacuzzi enjoy sunshine all day.
The accommodation comprises of 2 double bedrooms, with a luxury modern house bathroom and ground floor shower room, a luxurious double sofa bed in the main reception room and infant cot if required to comfortably sleep up to 6 people.
The villa is air conditioned and central heated throughout and all windows are double glazed with mosquito blinds. Although a car is not necessary there is a parking to the front of the property for 2 cars. The garden is fully maintained, lawned with flowering shrubs and trees.
This is to be our home from home in retirement so all those extras we would need have been thought of in the design, quality and style of the fixtures and furnishings to make this a very special villa.
Outside. The large private pool and Jacuzzi/ paddling pool has extensive paved surround in cool classic marble, which together with gardens and house balconies, offer varied sunbathing areas. Furnished with padded sun loungers .
As the sun goes down the underwater lights illuminating the pool area against the backdrop of mountain scenery and the romantically lit Lycian Tombs, create a beautiful setting for a quiet relaxing evening.
There is a feature stone built BBQ and poolside shower.
The large shaded veranda complete with tables and chairs are perfect for dining alfresco, incorporates an attractive covered Kosk with traditional Turkish cushions provides perfect shaded seating for outdoor barbeques.
Villa Layout:- The generously proportioned ground floor accommodation has double door opening from the pool into a large open plan lounge, dining kitchen with feature stone open fire and lounge area with stylish high quality 3 piece suite.
The ground floor is fully furnished with table and seating in the lounge and dining areas for a maximum of 6 people. There is double sofa bed with extra clothes storage on the landing. A fully tiled shower room and WC is located off the hallway.
The kitchen has extensive high quality units with granite surfaces. Windows are south and west facing which are not overlooked but give fabulous views of the mountains and rock tombs.
The floors to all reception and bedrooms are laid with cool classic pink marble tiles. On the first floor the master bedroom has a super king size four poster bed with drapes and double doors leading onto the large balcony, which is ideal for sun bathing, evening drinks or simply to gaze at the flood lit tombs.
The house bathroom is fully tiled with extractor fan and fitted with luxury standard fittings.
The second bedroom is large and has a double bed. Both bedrooms have extensive shaker style wardrobes and furniture with both air conditioning and central heating. A cot is also available.
Outdoors, patio furniture comprising of various table and chairs, poolside loungers with padded cushions and parasols. Traditional shaded Turkish kosk seating area with carpet cushions.
There is an attractive stone built barbeque with adjacent outside shower for pre pool use.
Services. Maid service will be provided once per week, bed linen and towels for bathroom use are provided and changed weekly. Additional maid and laundry service can be provided if required at an extra charge. Airers will be made available.
Local English speaking representative is available if required to give advice on local amenities and can arrange tours vehicle hire etc.
Add a touch of opulence with a pool side Turkish massage, hire a Chef for a special BBQ or have your romantic meal delivered to the villa. Choose fabulous Turkish cuisine from one of the top restaurants in Dalyan, or how about a romantic moonlight cruise on the lake. With BBQ, lake swimming and finally a dip in the famous hot springs.

There are lots of things to do in Dalyan, including boat trips, sailing, mud baths, turtle spotting, Turkish baths, white water rafting, snorkelling, diving, a beautiful deserted beach and visiting the ancient ruins of Kaunos. Or you can of course just relax and enjoy the sun, sea and sand.
Since 1986, Dalyan and its delta has been a conservation area and wildlife sanctuary. Because of this, the small town on the South West coast of the Mediterranean has kept it's Turkish charm and appeal. Proudly guarded by the Dalyan authorities. Many people like us return year after year, a few never leave.
Bird watchers come to Dalyan as there are over 200 different species to see.
Approximately 3 miles from the centre of Dalyan lays the 3 miles long sandbar Istuzu beach that juts out from the main land into the Mediterranean. This site was earmarked for development until it was brought to the authorities’ attention that it was one of the last nesting grounds for the endangered Loggerhead Turtle. A campaign with David Bellamy and a local woman Kaptan June (Haimhoff) was successful in stopping the development of Iztuzu Beach. Visiting times to the beach are restricted to daytimes only from May - September when the Turtles are nesting.
You can reach Iztuzu by Boat (approx. 40 mins) or Dolmus (approx. 20 mins). The boat winds its way down the channel through the rustling reeds, where the “ African Queen” was filmed, to the open tip of the beach, with an opportunity to spot the turtles, and many species of birds. The Dolmus (local bus) travels lakeside and over the mountains through beautiful winding roads lined with Oleander. Both ways offer spectacular scenery and are well worth doing.
For an historic cultural experience take the rowing boat ferry across the river (400 yards from the villa) and walk down the back lanes to the ancient ruined city of Kaunos.
This was a very significant city port, with ruined temples, an ampitheatre, castle and walls but unlike Greece or Rome you can take your viewing at leisure in the cooler parts of the day with few other tourists to compete with. |

JULY 2007
We (3 adults and a 9 year old) stayed in Villa Orkide for a week July 07. The villa has a good location, just a short walk to the main street (at the opposite end from the mosque) and is very quietly situated. The standard of the accommodation was excellent. We all appreciated the air conditioning which was throughout but particularly effective in the bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge/ freezer. The pool was a good size and kept clean on a daily basis. The Oruc team were very helpful and had a good choice of excursions. We went with them on the 12 island cruise which was a fabulous day out, spent on a beautiful boat with just a small group of people lots of stops for swimming, snorkelling etc. ( many other boats were extremely crowded and not of the same high standard) Loved Dalyan itself - lots of places to choose from to eat, many options for excursions, friendly people, just don’t forget to go armed with mossie defences! "

The villa was excellently situated just a short walk from the main street. The jacuzzi was wonderful especially when sipping cold fizz in the plastic glasses provided(for safety issues) The management team serving the villa provided an excellent service. There was nothing that we felt had not been provided and would have no hesitation in recommending to other family/friends a stay in this villa. Can imagine due to the high standard of accommodation and location that this will be a villa that we be highly sought after, do not delay in booking."
