This luxury villa situated high up on Monte de los Almendros at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, overlooking the old town of Salobrena and its 10th. Century Moorish Castle. There are wonderful views to the Castle with the Mediterranean Sea and the beaches of Salobrena in the background. There is secure parking for two cars, and the secluded garden, pool area and terraces are totally protected from the prevailing south-westerly winds so the villa is perfect for a warm getaway from the Northern European winter, as well as the perfect spot for a summer holiday.

| Situated between Almunecar and Motril, and just over an hour's drive from Malaga airport, Salobrena still maintains its Spanish roots and traditions. Spain's most popular tourist attraction, the Alhambra in Granada, is less than forty-five minutes away, and the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada, home to the 1996 FIS World Championships, are just over an hour away. In the winter months, skiing in the morning and relaxing around the heated pool in the afternoon is a realistic option when you stay at this villa. |

This three bedroom, two bathroom villa is situated near the top of Monte de los Almendros overlooking the old town of Salobrena, the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, and the Mediterranean. The views are absolutely stunning, and peace and quiet are a certainty owing to the secluded position of the villa, and its situation at the end of a cul-de-sac.
Inside there is a large well-equipped modern kitchen with all the fittings that you would expect, including granite worktops, electric cooker, gas hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, and all the necessary utensils, crockery, pots and pans etc. A washing machine is situated in the adjacent utility room together with an iron and ironing board.
In the large lounge/diner, there is a dining table with seating for six together with ample comfortable sofas and chairs. There is satellite TV with all the free to air British Sky channels, a DVD player and a CD player (bring your own favourites). The lounge has access to the breakfast terrace via double doors, and the main window gives views to Salobrena, the Castle and the Mediterranean. There is a very efficient wood-burning fire in the lounge for Winter visitors in case Salobrena does not live up to its reputation as the warmest place on the Costa del Sol in the Winter. For Winter lets (October to April) we provide thermostatically controlled electric radiators and timer switches for all bedrooms and living rooms, and during this period only, electricity consumed will be charged at cost (0.10 euros per Kwh). Portable Gas heaters are provided at no cost if preferred. For all other lets, electricity costs are included in the rental price. Logs are supplied free of charge throughout the Winter for use in the fire in the Lounge/Dining room.
The double-aspect master bedroom faces in the same direction as the lounge/diner, and so has similar spectacular views, but also includes views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It overlooks the breakfast terrace and has its own en-suite bathroom/shower room. This bedroom also benefits from an air-conditioning unit. All bedrooms have their own hair-dryer, and include all linens and towels. There is a weekly bed-linen and towel change for stays of more than one week, and there is free use of the washing machine. Washing powder and conditioner is provided. Weekly maid service is available locally at a small extra charge. Pool towels are provided, but are not to be taken outside the villa grounds.
The other two bedrooms share the family bathroom and have views overlooking the Mediterranean garden to the Sierra Nevada mountains, and as they face predominantly North-East do not require air-conditioning. A Sony Playstation 2 is located in the third bedroom. (Please bring your own favourite software games).
There is ample secure parking space for two cars and extra room, if required, in the adjacent area at the end of the cul-de-sac.
The heated pool is surrounded by lawn and garden, and there are chairs and loungers for six people. For all lets, the swimming pool has an oil-fired heating system with an energy-efficient heat pump and thermal cover. The oil used will be charged at cost, and if used sensibly and in conjunction with the cover, should not exceed 50 pounds per week, even in the Winter. There is an outside barbeque with all the necessary equipment. The breakfast terrace has a table and chairs and has absolutely wonderful views over Salobrena to the beach and the Mediterranean. The gardener and pool cleaner may appear at some time during your stay, but will be as unobtrusive as possible and may well be agreeable to setting a more convenient time with you. (It may cost you a beer or two though!).
Any Additional Charges for electricity or oil will be deducted from your security deposit before it is returned to you.

We did have a fantastic time at Las lturas. The location was everything that we had hoped for - what fantastic views, and we did get a couple of days in skiing. It is a marvellous pitch, with being so high up and also at the end of the cul-de-sac meant no passing traffic so total privacy.
Your welcoming arrangements (ie. wine, breakfast cereal, milk and orange juice)were very thoughtful and greatly appreciated. I’m afraid we don’t have any dislikes to report. I’m pleased to hear we didn’t do anything to compromise our future welcome as we would like to come back again someday. We thought the house was lovely and a perfect base for enjoying the coast, the Alpujarras and Grenada.

We had a really wonderful time and thought that Las Alturas was perfect, really fabulous and liked everything about it. Definitely a 5 star rating! I especially loved the amount of space in the villa, the terraces, the privacy, and the pool. It far exceeded our expectations, and would be just
what I would choose if I could afford it! We also liked the fact that you have thought of everything to make visitors at home, hairdryers, the barbecue, playstation etc to keep the children amused as well.
So pleased with the villa, quiet and peaceful and the view so much to see and ever changing. The villa beautifully
furnished and spotless, the kitchen so well equipped you could prepare a banquet. Our favourite place was the area adjacent to the lounge we enjoyed many meals there watching the world go by. |
