| The roughness of this mountains and the rawness of this territory give this area an enormous ecologic richness we can enjoy tracking along the path that link the different villages, discovering spectaculra spots in these mountains, forests and river banks.
The visitor can choose to practise active tourism riding on horse, canoeing, driving on quad, pipe descending, rafting, hunting or fishing thanks to the unique orography of this terrain. We have also a Recreational Area an a thermal house from the XIX century only a few minutes away. As a whole we take pride in ensuring that your stay with us remain as an indelible memory.
Cazo is the origin of varied studies on Preromanic Arquitecture and has the oldest civil building in Asturias. The beauty and quietness that surround us make up perfectly with the varied activities this place offers, ideal for those who enjoy adventure sports, fishing or hunting. On top of this our traditional markets and festivals will amuse us at different dates during the year.
In Ponga, some of them are: Fiesta de las Nieves on August the 5th and Arcedonio´s Hermitage on September the 8th.
We should not forget our excellent gastronomy: fabada, stews and homely dishes, cheeses, home made cakes and bakery...all this and many more can be enjoyed at the restaurants in the area, where the Beyos Cheese Contest is celebrated each May.. |
