VILLA CAFAGGIOLO - Quick Intro:
• The Villa is a luxury farmhouse only 7/8 miles east of Florence, 20 minutes by car. It is located in the Chianti Ruffino countryside, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. It is at the top of a hill so you can enjoy a great view of the valley.
• The Villa is composed of 3 luxury apartments, each a different size and shape, and each completely independent of the others. Each one has its own private entrance as well as its own private garden.
• The apartments are tastefully furnished with antique furniture and chandeliers and decorated with paintings and ceramics. Terracotta floors, beamed ceilings, and stone walls are everywhere. We (the Owners) used to live in this big Villa ourselves, before we divided it into 3 apartments; that is why they have a genuine Tuscan homelike feeling.
• Access to the Villa is by private road. You will never hear the sounds of traffic (day or night) during your stay. Our guests love falling asleep at night to the sounds of nature.
• All the land around Villa Cafaggiolo (2.5 acres) is completely fenced; your children will be safe in any part of the estate.
• There is a private swimming pool on the estate and also a private parking lot for your cars.
• The medium-sized village of Pontassieve is less than two miles from the Villa. There you’ll find any of the shops, restaurants, supermarkets, or banks you may need.
• There is a Railroad Station in Pontassieve with trains running frequently to Florence. The fares are inexpensive and the trains are comfortable and fast. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes to get to the center of Florence. It’s easy to find parking at or close to the Station.
• The Villa is strategically located close to major highways. The following are some approximate driving times from Cafaggiolo:
20 minutes: Florence and Fiesole
1 hour: San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Lucca, Arezzo
1.5 hours: Pisa, Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto
2.5 hours: Roma, Venezia, Cinque Terre.
• For bargain hunters…, the Gucci, Ferragamo, Armani, Valentino, Zegna, and other Outlets are just 15 minutes by car from Villa Cafaggiolo.
• Presently, we (the Owners) live on the same estate but in a separate Villa. This means you will have your privacy but, at the same time, we’ll always be available to solve any problems or to offer suggestions.
• Weekly price range is from Euro 650, to Euro 1600.
Prices depends on the season, kind of apartment, the number of the people and the length of the stay.
Please, ask for further details.
• If you think that Villa Cafaggiolo is what you might be looking for but you’d like more details before making up your mind, please go ahead and visit the Villa's web site.
Sincerely,
The Pucci family |

| Villa Cafaggiolo is very close to Florence; just 7/8 miles east, that means 15/20 minutes by car (a large and comfortable road will lead you, through the countryside, from the City to the Villa).
If you want to have an idea about where the Villa is, take a map of Tuscany, look for Firenze, than look on the right along the river Arno and you’ll find the village of Pontassieve; ideally cross the river and you get in Rosano. The Villa is settled on a hill around, just 1 miles away.
This location is ideal for those wishing to visit Florence and all its glories, while at the same time experiencing the quiet and tranquility of a rural setting away from the noise and bustle of the city.
Villa Cafaggiolo is immersed in silence with a private road leading to the farmhouse. You will never hear the sound of traffic (day or night) during your stay. Our guests love falling asleep to the nightly sounds of nature.
The town of Pontassieve is less than 2 miles from the Villa. It is an attractive medieval village where you will find many shops, banks, markets, several very good restaurants, and a shopping center. There is frequent train service to the center of Florence. The train takes about 20 minutes and is an easy way to travel for those who do not wish to take their car into the city. It is easy to park at or close to the Pontassieve Station.
Near Villa Cafaggiolo there are many historic places to visit:
- the 11th century Benedictine monastery at Rosano
- the Vallombrosa Abbey with its surrounding forests
- the Etruscan settlement of Fiesole with its unforgettable views of Florence
The Villa is a short distance from the most famous towns of Tuscany: 20-50 miles from Siena, Greve-in-Chianti, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Volterra, Vinci, Lucca, Pisa, Arezzo, and the beaches at Viareggio or Forte dei Marmi.
In addition, fashion-conscious bargain hunters will find the outlets of Gucci, Ferragamo, Armani, Valentino, Prada, Zegna, YSL, Dolce & Gabbana, and Fendi just seven miles away, in the town of Rignano sull’Arno.
Many people, however, come to Villa Cafaggiolo not “to do” but “to be;” to enjoy the tranquil location, beautiful grounds, and excellent Tuscan food. This is life as it should be, calm and unhurried; time to talk and listen to friends and family and regain one’s lost vitality. |

| Guestbook: This is an example of reference that much more that my words, could solve your doubts. I could insert many short, nice comments about Villa Cafaggiolo, but this is probably more explanatory than all the others. I think and I hope that you could find many answers, by reading it.

Believe it or not, it is exactly what they have written.

Hello,
We are planning to travel to Italy in October and plan to rent the Brunelleschi apartment at Villa Cafaggiolo. I understand that you rented an apartment at this Villa in the past (your name was given to me by the owner, Mr. Pucci as a referral), and would like to obtain your review on it.
I greatly appreciate the time you will take to provide me with this.
Best regards,
Denise.

Hello Denise,
{linebreak}
sorry for the bit of delay with my response – work has been a bit hectic this week and I certainly wish I was back at Villa Cafaggiolo drinking wine, eating fabulous cheese and listening to the church bells on the hill across the way!
{linebreak}
I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Pucci family, their Villa, the Giotto apartment and the time we had there.
We were there last May-June for 3 weeks. We were 2 families and a total of 3 children and there was plenty of space for all. My friend and her family loved it so much, they rebooked for this year – just staying in one of the smaller apartments as there aren’t so many of them this time. Hopefully I’ll be able to return next year.
{linebreak}
The apartment has a wonderful feel to it, and we felt right at home from the first day. Comfy beds, lovely sheets, and a great mix of old rustic farmhouse yet new bathrooms. The patio overlooks an incredible view, and is a great spot for an outdoor barbeque. It’s quiet, serene, in the middle of beautiful vineyards and olive groves – yet only 20 mins from Florence.
{linebreak}
The town of Pontassieve at first glance is not as quaint and charming as the other surrounding Chianti road towns, but actually has a cute old city center you just have to look a bit for it.
We found some wonderful restaurants right down the hill. Some of the most fun we had was just piling in the care and seeing what adorable town we’d end up in. It is so beautiful there – absolutely breathtaking. I’m getting so nostalgic just writing this email!!!
{linebreak}
It was really one of the best vacations we’ve had, and we’ve gone to variety of places. I don’t know how you found Villa Cafaggiolo, but we found it online, and it was a bit nail-biting for us to book a place that we only saw website pictures of – but it’s a gem.
{linebreak}
The Pucci’s are accommodating and helpful, yet are also very respectful of everyone’s privacy. We enjoyed meeting the other guests as well around the pool.
{linebreak}
It was just a lovely trip, I know I’ll be back there someday.

Ciao!!!
Kendra
Hello Kendra,
Thank you so much for your comments. As you did, we found Villa Cafaggiolo on the internet and were a little concerned about depositing money without references and having to rely on pictures from the internet. But your comments totally reassured me and I am now exited about having the good luck of finding this villa on the internet. I can now plan other stuff and not worry about the Villa.
Thank you again for taking the time to get back to me and giving us tips on different things.
Ciao,
Denise. |
