It has a spacious living room with a beautiful fireplace, a large dining room, a TV and a very big fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) with its own area for breakfast. There is also a small WC for the guests. At the ground floor there is a bedroom with shower/WC and upstairs two more bedrooms, each with shower cabins and separate balconies. This villa has a private pool in the garden in front of the house, which is surrounded by lush vegetation. VIP visitors from around the world occasionally enjoy staying at this villa.The huge garden with extensive lawns for sunbathing is surrounded by bamboo and citrus groves, and cleverly linked to the house is one of the most attractively designed swimming pools you have ever come across, with a cascade gushing over rocks and a large, shallow paddling area for children. On the lower ground floor, as well as a wine cellar, there is a fully-equipped gym and a sauna complete with ice-cold plunge tank. Sporting activity can be found at the horse-riding centre of Deres, a short drive inland through the unspoilt countryside that starts right behind Villa Iason, and on Maleme beach (10 minutes walk away) where there is a variety of watersports including pedalos, jet-skiing, water-skiing and parasailing.
If you choose to dine at home, there is an attractive barbecue area with a traditional wood-burning oven, and Michael’s vegetable garden yields all that is required for a delicious Greek salad, bar some olive oil and feta cheese.

Backed by the glorious White Mountains, Villa Afrodite lies a five-minute walk from the main road overlooking Maleme. A further five minutes walk brings you to the beach and the wonderful view of Chania Bay, with the deserted Rodopou peninsula to the west, and Chania and the Akrotiri peninsula to the east. Maleme is a large village with many choices of tavernas and quality shops.
It has kept its original Cretan flavour unspoilt from the massive tourist trade, offering an excellent base to organise numerous countryside daily excursions to the most photogenic places of the Chania county.
Rent a car, take the motorway and discover the most photogenic places of Crete in all directions. Take an all-day boat trip round the Gramvoussa peninsula with the dramatic volcanic scenery, and try the sands and water of Balos Bay where Charles and Diana bathed on their honeymoon. Maleme also offers a good bus link to Chania, should you occasionally wish to leave the car at home. Chania itself is the main town of the county, clearly divided between a modern bustling centre and an intimate atmosphere contained in the old quarter beside the port. The attractive harbourfront, with its colourful assortment of tavernas and bars, leads back through narrow streets lined with old Venetian houses and archways to the busy commercial centre. The old, walled town invites you to become lost amongst its theatrical bustle of shops, markets, tavernas, bars and village street life. The town is a beautiful puzzle of Minoan, Venetian and Turkish architecture punctuated by hidden squares. |

Property Information: The Villa has a gym place, Jacuzzi and sauna, offered to visitors at no extra charge. The furniture of the rooms have traditional Cretan style, while the rooms are all equipped with all the modern facilities, such as air conditioning, electric coffee – maker, cooker and fridge. The bathroom area is spacious and pleasant. The bed sheets are changed every two days.
