Villa Achileas as self-catering accommodation, both apartments have full-size electric cookers; fridge/freezers; irons; electric kettles; toasters; juicers; washing-machines; showers and hydro-massage baths – plus each apartment has its own TV and stereo system.
The finishing throughout is top quality, and every room has a heat-exchange/airconditioning unit. There are even open fires in both living rooms for those cool nights at the beginning and end of the year. The garden has a swimming pool which both apartments share. Each apartment has its own front door entry.
APARTMENT A (ground floor) has a kitchen with living/dining area with doors to the balcony, bathroom with WC, and bedroom with double bed. There is a double sofa bed in the living area, so it sleeps 4.
APARTMENT B (first and second floors) has the same basic layout as Apartment A, but with a spiral staircase to a second double bedroom with another sofa-bed so it can sleep 6. The top bedroom also has a small ensuite WC and shower. Both floors have their own balconies.
There is also a courtyard at the rear of the house, with a grapevine growing over it. |

North West Crete, nearest airport Chania. Astratigos is a small traditional Cretan village tucked away in the hillsides on the Rodopou peninsula above the coastal town of Kolimbari.
Villa Achileas is the very first house as you enter the village, and as such has spectacular uninterrupted views from all of its balconies down to Kolimbari, and beyond to Theodoro island and Chania and the Akrotiri, and the White Mountains.
Kolimbari can be reached from Chania airport in about 40 minutes via the Ethniki (National Highway) and from Kolmbari, Astratigos is a slow steady uphill climb of about 15 minutes. A car is essential if you stay at Villa Astratigos, but we can help to arrange car hire for you.
Once there, you will find a wealth of countryside to explore, with a delightful bay at Afrata (about 5 minutes drive) for swimming and snorkelling. Kolimbari itself is quiet and not overdeveloped, there are supermarkets, bakeries, a Post Office, a bank and the local telephone exchange, and several tavernas. |
