Our cosy village house, Casa Triana, is situated in Competa, a traditional Andalucian village nestled in the Sierra de Almijara mountains, backing on to a the National Park. Find traditional Spanish bars, where you can hear flamenco late in the evenings, and mouth watering local food. Superbly situated close to the main square, but down a pedestrian side street in a little plazoleta, where no cars go down. A local artist created our beautiful mosaic Gaudi-style façade in April 2004.
Enter to Lounge (TV,CD,tape,video). Steps lead to kitchen and dining room. Ttwo bedrooms (double & twin) on next floor. Further steps lead up to bathroom and roof terrace with spectacular views over rooftops and mountains.
The village enjoys good modern amenities, shops, banks, internet. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants and the prices remain far lower than those found in Northern Europe. The local swimming pool has lovely views over the mountains, with its own bar and restaurant. |

| Competa is situated in the Sierra Almijara mountains backing on to a nature reserve, about 30 mins from the coast and an hour and a half to Malaga in Andalucia, Southern Spain. A delightful part of unspoilt Spain, where there are miles of walks in the countryside and mountains, exploring waterfalls and mountain rivers. Historic whitewashed villages just waiting to be visited by you. |

Pool: The local pool is closeby with a bar/restaurant, with vines for shade on the terrace. Sunbeds can be hired for the day. Being high up there are wonderful views down the mountain valleys to the sea. As well as the pool, there are some lovely rivers and waterfalls in the mountains, where a lot of the local people go down to picnic and barbeque on Sundays.
Horseriding: Close to Competa, you’ll find tahe riding school in beautiful national park. Horses can be hired for periods or join a group.
Walking: Walks via designated routes - see tourist office for maps or buy local books
Spanish Take time perhaps to learn the language. You can book on courses to learn Spanish, either 1, 2 3 or 4 week at all levels. All details on my website, please contact me.
Tennis Tennis courts can be booked at the Hotel Balcon – where the pool is.
On the other hand, there are peaceful sleepy, villages to find, where you can sit in the main square under a tree, drink in one hand, and watch the world go by. |
