This large house, newly renovated in keeping with its history, is hidden down a narrow street in one of the oldest parts of this historic town, described by the Rough Guide to Andalucia as ‘one of the unsung gems of Granada province’. The roof terraces enjoy views of olive groves on the surrounding hillsides and the town's imposing fifteenth century church. Alhama’s main square, with its shops, bars and restaurants, is only a short walk away. There are hot springs, used since Roman times, just outside town. The eastern edge of the town is built overlooking the gorge (El Tajo). The owners live in Alhama and are therefore readily available both to meet and greet and to help with anything you need during your holiday.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven and hob, a toaster and a fridge with freezer compartment. Other equipment includes iron, ironing board, washing machine and hair dryer. There is a TV (with DVD), a CD/radio and a small library of books. Winter evenings can be cold in Alhama so heaters and extra blankets will be available, and there is a wood-burning stove in the dining room. In the middle of summer, on the other hand, when you've had your fill of sunbathing or hiking through the gorge, you may simply want to sit in the cool, shady patio sipping long, cool drinks. |

| This is a traditional house, renovated in keeping with its history and location. It does not have either air conditioning or central heating, however its design keeps it pleasantly cool in the summer. There is a TV with DVD in the lounge, and a dining room that will seat 6 comfortably and 8 at a squeeze! There is a fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor and a small kitchenette area on the top floor for preparing drinks or light meals to have on the roof terrace. |
