Casina di Rosa is a wonderful opportunity for the independent traveller seeking privacy and a pleasant atmosphere. Use the house as a base for sightseeing trips or relax and experience daily life in a traditional Tuscan village.
The house consists of 4 rooms (kitchen, bedroom with double bed, living room and bathroom) and is furnished with original pieces and new items in traditional Tuscan style. The kitchen has all major appliances (including washing machine) and a working fireplace.
The house is located in Civitella Marittima, a small village that lies in the hills between the Tuscan Maremma and the Colli Senesi. The village, home to 350 people, was originally settled during the time of the Etruscans, but experienced its major development in the medieval period.
The area surrounding Civitella Marittima has been declared "Distretto Rurale Europeo": it remains one of the few areas in Europe in which nature still comprises the major economic resource. The uncontaminated environment makes this an ideal location for vacationers looking to immerse themselves in nature.

This makes of Casina di Rosa the ideal base to visit both the Siena region and the undiscovered Maremma. Very diverse areas in Tuscany.
Great cities of art such as Siena and Pienza, archaeological parks such as Roselle, Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano, or the fascinating Tyrrhenian coastal towns of Castiglione della Pescaia, Punt'Ala and Orbetello are all reachable in less than one hour's drive.
Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Rome are all reachable in about 2 hours. The village is well connected by the buses than run along the main Siena-Grosseto line. |

The house is provided with Satellite TV, stereo, washing machine, iron, hair dryer, and electric heater for the bathroom. Towels are provided for the bathroom and kitchen.
Detergent for the washing machine and for the dishes are provided.

Casina di Rosa to be very honest was a perfect home for our vacation. The moment we walked in the door my husband and I both sighed and smiled. It was more than we had wished for.
Casina di Rosa is fresh crisp and clean! The kitchen is totally equipped with all the essentails any home would need. I never once wished I had this or that - all we had to do was open a cupboard and there it was!
The bedroom was was graced with a view that in the early morning could take your breath away. The sitting room was very nicely decorated and informational books and maps were placed on the table to borrow. The bathroom was a good size and was very pretty. Cute and Clean is one way I have used to descibe Casina di Rosa.
The village was like a dream. It was so much fun to walk the streets and greet all the smiling people. The bakery, oh the bakery, I can still see all the fresh bread and goodies I may even be able to smell it! All the stores in the village were great to go in. Everyone was so welcoming and warm.
The owners we cannot say enough about them. Gloria and Marcel are truly kind and helpful. Before we left I would email to ask a question and everything was always answered quickly. They went out of their way to help and make us feel comfortable. When we left we were dropping our rental car in Grosetto. If it was not for their help with detailed directions we never would have found it as we did.
The location of the house was great for us. We drove to many areas and experienced so many wonderful day trips. Then to come home to the peace and beauty of Civitella Marittima and our Tuscan village. It was so wonderful. We can not wait to go back some day. We will return to Casina di Rosa! |
