PakuPakis is a single storey bungalow fitted with all the trimmings perfect for holiday makers. One could not miss Pakupakis when one drives to the most prestigious resort on the island, Four Seasons Hotel from Air Hangat in the northern part of Langkawi. They share the same beach and is less than ten minutes walks from each other. It is a well furnished bungalow that faces the Andaman Sea, in fact, just a stone's throw away rom its wooden balcony. The bungalow has a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, one double room and anohter single room, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen and a separate common bathroom. Five would be the best number of people to stay here. Ferns, trees and greenery are cleverly landscaped to give that tropical feeling to the little home as well as to live up its name Paku Pakis, common fern found in the tropics. In fact, the front of the resort is lined with the refreshing ferns. The shaded lightings are all of hotel standards and controlled by different panels in the differnt rooms. In the niht the bungalos glows in yellow light when all the lights are switched on. |

Tanjung Rhu boasts one of Langkawi's best beaches with magnificent views of nearby islands which can be reached at low tide on foot.
The area is known for its glorious natural environment and flanked by century old lime stone caves. Visitors can laze on the two and a half kilometre stretch of beach or if you just want to head into the great outdoors try a windsurfer, catamaran, sea kayak, mountain bike or even a hydro bike. Another highlight is a riverboat cruise where you'll see magnificent Langkawi eagles diving for fish.
You can also head out by boat to the Pulau Payar Marine Park in the Malacca Straits. The Malacca Straits used to be the busiest trade route in Asia, but these days it's better known as a top spot to dive and snorkel. The added bonus is the warm water. At 29 degrees, you probably won't even need a wetsuit. You can also go for a snorkel in a fenced area, where the fish stay in and the shrks are kept out.
Need a bite to eat? Get stuck into the gastronomic delights on offer at the nearby resorts. There are five dining options, from fine dining to poolside service. |

Further details indoors:
The master bedroom is a gem. Everythin is of the size that satisfies one's comfort. It has an air conditioner, a large television set with satellite programmes and a kingsize bed that could sleep three.
The bathroom is stupendous with a European size toilet bowl and is fitted with hot and cold water shower. The washing place is a tall bowl with stylish taps to go with it.
The living room and dining room are decorated with wooden floral carvings. A large mirror covers the one of the wall at the dining room.
Futher details outdoors:
Paku Pakis allure lies in its design. the setup emphasizes simplicity and clever use of space. the gate is wooden fitted with two round lamps. One is greeted by a row of well tended ferns as soon as one drives into its porch. Giant earthen jars as well as medium size ones are strategically placed to give the place a novel touch. A well standing garden shower made of slate awaits you after your swim at the nearby beach.
On the right near the gate is a solid pavilion constructed of wood. it is fitted with Bali bells and gives Paku Pakis a leisurely feel. One walks through a little wooden bridge surrounded with greenery to the wooden balcony where one could enter either through the glass door at the living room or the dining room. Here, one could lull away the day enjoying the seductive breeze and shimmering waves of the Andaman Sea, or just lie around soaking up the tropical feel of the island.
Sunset here over tarutuo and Adang Islands from December to March, the island's dry season is spectacular. adding to the artistic feel of the bungalow is the little waterfall near the balcony that flows into a pool filled with carps. the balcony actually covers part of the pool and you could see the fish swimming in and out of the balcony where you sit.

Thank you very much for a wonderful place to stay in Langkawi. We were very comfortable here and find it a perfect base for exploring the island. We particularly enjoyed the mangrove tour from Tanjung Rhu with eagle feeding, bats caves, fish farm, a magical dinner at Barn Thai restaurant in a rainstrom, cable car trip and visit seven wells and fountain and the Batik demonstration. We hope to return soon and highly recommend PakuPakis
