Itinerary

Day 1

Transfer airport/hotel HD. - City Tour & Archaelogical Tour HD. At agreed time, transfer airport / hotel.

Departure from hotel at 14:00 hours, visit to Arica, San Marcos Cathedral, ex customs-house, both designed by Gustave Eiffel, Ex - Alacran Island, Morro of Arica, drive into Azapa Valley, Cerro Sombrero and La Tropilla geoglyphs, visit to San Miguel de Azapa archaeological Museum, which displays sand preserved mummies and pre-inca relics dating since 10.000 years B.C. Return to hotel. (Duration 3 ½ hours).

Day 2

Arica : Lauca National Park : CHhungara Lake - Putre FD. Departure from hotel at 08:00 hours, entering Lluta Valley, geoglyphs sight (1.000 B.C.), hamlet of Poconchile, Pucara de Copaquilla, hamlet of Zapahuira (breakfast). Short stop at Putre view point, visit to Lauca National Park, sight of exotic flora, wild fauna and majestic scenery: the Payachatas volcanoes and Chungara Lake, the highest in the world. Visit to the typical villages of Parinacota and Putre. Arrive to Putre at 17:30 hours. (Breakfast, lunch, mineral water dinner with Chilean wine).

Day 3

Putre - Surire Salt Deposit - Colchane FD. Departure from hotel at 09:00 hour, entering “Las Vicuñas National Reserve”. Panoramic view of Guallatiri volcano, visit to Surire salt deposit, sight of wild species. Free time for swimming at Polloquere hot spring in place out of doors (packed lunch). Visit Volcano Isluga National Park, Colchane. Overnight in Colchane in hostel. Dinner with Chilean wine. Lodge in Colchane. (Packet lunch, diner, mineral water).

Day 4

Atacama Giants - Humberstone EX Nitrate Company : Iquique FD. Breakfast in Hostel. Departure from the hostel at 09:00 hour. Visit view point Chusmiza and Pachica, these are in the border of the Atacama Desert. Then we continue to Unitas hill, to observe the biggest Geogliphs in the area The Atacama Giants. Lunch in Huara. Visit to Humberstone Ex Nitrate Company and Santa Laura. Arrive to Iquique at 18:00 hours. (Breakfast, lunch, mineral water).

Day 5

Pintados Salt Deposit - Pintados Geogliph : Moon Valley : San Pedro FD. Departure at 09:00 hours. Then we go through the Pintados Salt Deposit, Pintados Geoglyphs. We continue until to San Pedro de Atacama, visit to the Valle de la Muerte and Valle de la Luna, located at 16 kms from San Pedro de Atacama, in the salt mountain range, formed 22 millions yers ago. Amazing salt hills, moulded by the wind and rain like natural sculptures of mineral shapes and shines, where we'll enjoy a nice trekking and a beautiful sunset. Lodge in San Pedro de Atacama. (Breakfast, lunch, snack)

Day 6

Altiplanic Lagoons and Salt Deposit of Atacama FD. Departure from Hotel at 08:00 hrs, visit the Atacama Salt flat, where we can see salt layers generated by the evaporation of underground salty water. We'll see in Chaxa lagoon beautiful animals like flamingos and some other birds that find the food in this inhospitable place, like the Caití and the Andean Gull.
In the way a visit to Toconao town, an oasis of abundant sweet water and fruit trees, with a symbol, a bell tower since 1750. Going through Socaire town (3.250 m.o.s.l.) located at 90 kms. from San Pedro de Atacama we'll go up to Miñiques and Miscanti lagoons, at 4.000 m.o.s.l. and 100 kms from San Pedro de Atacama, formed 1 million years ago with the eruption of the Miniques volcano. Lunch in Socaire town and back to San Pedro de Atacama. Lodge in San Pedro de Atacama. (Breakfast, lunch)

Day 7

Geysers and Villages - Calama Airport FD. Departure from hotel at 04:00 hours to El Tatio Geysers, at 4.320 m.o.s.l. Amazing sunrise in the geothermic field with vapour and water flows at 85 Cº generating a spectacle with 40 geysers, 60 hotsprings and 70 fumaroles. You´ll enjoy the breakfast in the place, take a bath in the natural pool, and watch the landscape with wild life like vicuñas, viscachas and silvester birds. The trip continues going through the towns of Caspana, prehispanic town that keeps ancient traditions, Chiu Chiu and Lasana, visiting the Inka Coya Lagoon, the oldest church in Chile and the fortress ruins of the Pukara from the XII century. Typical lunch in Tambo Lasana . Arrival to Calama airport at 16:45 hours approximate (Breakfast, lunch).
