ITINERARY

The Lakeland Hills have a rugged and natural beauty that Wordsworth loved and drew inspiration from. In the afternoon take a tour of either Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage or Beatrix Potter’s former home at Hill Top.
Day 2 - Option 1: Yorkshire Dales.
Anyone who has read the famous books by James Herriot, watched the film or the BBC TV series based on Herriot's books will be familiar with the beauty of the places he wrote so eloquently about in the Yorkshire Dales. We will show you the actual places where James Herriot lived and worked.
Option 2: Castle Howard, tour this magnificent 18th Century house with extensive collections, sweeping park lands and famous gardens.
Roman City of York
Founded in AD71, York has extensive Viking and Roman historical attractions including archeological digs, the stunning York Minster and the Shambles for shopping.

Dating back to the year 914, Warwick castle is reputed to have been constructed by King Alfred the Great. Now extensively restored Warwick Castle is one of the ten foremost stately homes in Britain
Stratford-upon-Avon: The birthplace of William Shakespeare and the home of the Royal Shakespeare theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The Swan, a smaller theatre, is modelled on the theatres that Shakespeare's works would have originally been staged in - a great place to take in one of Shakespeare's works.
Option 2: Blenheim Palace
One of Englands greatest houses, built in 1705. The palace is also notable as the birthplace and ancestral home of Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
