Itinerary
Day 1
: Ankara : the meeting for your Sobek Travel expedition is upon arrival at the airport in Ankara, by a representative from Sobek Travel. Transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 2
: Ankara - Ihlara valley : Depart by road for Cappadocia, 4 hours drive. En route we pass the great salt lake of Tuz Gölü and stop to see the 13th century Seljuk caravansary of Aðzýkarahan. Arrive in the Selime Village at the beginning of the Ihlara valley. This canyon was created by the fractures and collapses of the cooling lava of basalt and andesite origin from the volcano Hasan. 2 hours walking to Belisirma village. Overnight in organized camping. BLD.
Day 3
Belisýrma / Göreme
The narrow, steep-sided Ihlara valley, dotted with rock cut churches, was once the favorite retreat of Byzantine monks. This valley was formed by primeval earthquakes and the was once rushing river is now a quiet stream. As we walk along the winding valley, with cliffs reaching up to 170m in some places , we see small garden cultures that originally would have provided for the colonies and made them self supporting. There are many rock-cut churches is this valley with valley with well preserved frescos dating from the 9th century. In the afternoon we drive via the Underground City at Derinkuyu to Göreme. Overnight in regular camping.
Day 4
Akvadi - Kavak: We trek through the Akvadi (White valley) eroded so perfectly by time, rain and wind during centuries. Lunchbreak in a restaurant in Uçhisar village and visit of the densely settled citadel. A great panoramic view of the surrealist area is available from the top. Walking on the Babayan Plateau, through vineyards and tree gardens, and join the Kavak village. 6 hours. Overnight regular camping. BLD
Day 5
Kavak - Sinasos: Walk along the Gömede valley with a general view on a surrealist landscape. We cross two typical village, Bahçeli and Ayvalý. Opportunity to experience authentic village life in central Anatolia. Arrive to Sinasos where until the turn of the century Orthodox Anatolian Greek communities lived leaving a quite exuberant use of stone masonry. Overnight regular camping. BLD.
Day 6
Sinasos - Kýzýlçukur (Red valley ) : Trek in the spectacular Pancarlýk valley. The interesting sweeping curves on the valley flanks give a particular character to the region. Our trail brings us to Ortahisar village. Lunchbreak in typical restaurant and walk to Kýzýlçukur valley to see some rock formations and the magnificent work of the erosion on a red tuff. Churches will be seen from the Christian period. Overnight regular camping. BLD
Day 7
Cappadocia - Ankara : Trek to Çavuþin village, one of the most important religious centers of Cappadocia. After visiting the churches, caves and old houses of Çavuþin, trek to the Paþabaglarý, formerly known as Priests valley. It contains many fairy chimneys of a type peculiar to itself, with multiples trunks and caps. Drive to Ankara. Installation to hotel for overnight.
Day 8
8 Ankara - Home : Transfer to airport fly home.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
