Itinerary

Day 1

Kayseri - Cappadocia
Meet at the airport with Demavend Travel team. Afterwads drive to Cappadocia for overnight. (D)

Day 2

Akvadi - Uchisar - Goreme
Drive to the trailhead point at the beginning of the Akvadi (white valley). We walk in this valley following an old river (today vineyards). In this valley the fairy chimneys are particularly slim. At noon we arrive in Uchisar village to visit the high viewpoint known as “fortress”. In the afternoon we walk in the pigeon valley, called so because of the numerous “pigeon houses” built in the 18th century. Then we drive to Avanos to discover the handcraft of Cappadocia, pottery demonstration. 5-6 hours walking.(BLD)

Day 3

Zelve – Cavusin – Red Valley – Goreme
Short transfer to Zelve, an old cave dwelling village, transformed today in open-air museum. We go on hiking through the typical fairy chimneys of Pasabaglari; some are getting destroyed, and some other have still three “heads”... Our picnic is just after Cavusin church visit; the good conserved frescoes are representing the Christ life. In the afternoon, while sun is getting down and is spending its colours on the landscape, we get in the Red valley. This is the most beautiful valley in Cappadocia with its formations and colours.

Day 4

Cappadocia – Taurus Mountains – Karagol – Camp
In the morning depart for the Taurus range, on the way visit of Derinkuyu Underground City. This is an amazing site where you descend to 87m under the ground, visiting on the way 8 floors! 1h 30 drives to Cukurbag village, after lunch drive to Pinarbasi village and start walking for about 5 hours walking via Maden Gorge we ascend to Meydan Yayla. Overnight at camp (2800 m)

Day 5

Karagol – Yedigoller (Seven Lakes) – Camp
Early in the morning, we start walking via Karagol (black lake) and Yildiz (Star) Lake. Climb up to Tekekalesi (3517m). After having lunch there descends down to Yedigoller, plateau (3100 m). Overnight in front of Direktas north face at campsite, 3100 m (8 hours walks)
Ascend: 800 m Descend: 417 m

Day 6

Emler summit 3.723 m. – Camp
Today we have an easy climb up to the summit, which is 3723 m high. We walk up to pass and after climb approx. an hour to get to the summit. Here the peak will offer us a panoramic view of Erciyes Volcano on the north, Bolkar range on south-west and Hasan Volcano on the west. Have lunch on the top depending on weather conditions and walk back to campsite. (4-5 hrs walks)

Day 7

Yedigoller – Sokulupinar – Camp
We ascend Celikbuyduran Pass (3500m). After, we descend down to Sokulupinar camp (2000m) with an easy and clear path. On the way down we will taste the funny scree runs. (6 – 7 hours walk)
Ascend: 400 m Descend: 1500 m

Day 8

Sokulupinar – Emli Valley – Camp
Ascend up to Sakartas (2300 m) and traverse to Eznevit semi-nomad campsite (2538 m) where we may meet some families grazing their flocks around. After having lunch descend down to Siyirmalik valley, the only forested (Cedars and Juniper trees) valley of western side of Aladaglar Mountains. Totally 6 hours walking. O/N at campsite in Emli valley,
Ascend: 2538 m Descend: 700 m

Day 9

Hike to Alaca Yayla (2.400 m.)
In the morning hike up to Mangirci Gorge via Emli Valley, climb up to Alaca Yayla where we may meet semi-nomadic villagers grazing their flocks like the most ancient times. After having lunch by the spring we descend down to camp via Oluk sekisi, another old semi-nomad camp. Tea will be ready at the camp. (BLD)

Day 10

Emli Valley – Kayseri - Home
In the morning drive to Kayseri after fly back to Home. (2 hours transfer)
