Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 Istanbul
Welcome to Istanbul! You will be transferred to your hotel located in the heart of the old city, Sultanahmet. The remainder of the day is yours free to explore. Overnight Istanbul 4*.

Day 2

Day 2 Istanbul old city tour
Tour of Istanbul, the city that spans both Europe and Asia visiting the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi Palace , the Cistern and the Hippodrome. Welcome dinner at a special Turkish restaurant. Overnight Istanbul 4*. Breakfast.

Day 3

Day 3 Istanbul to Gallipoli
One of the most emotionally and touching places in Turkey, today we visit the WWI Battlefields of Gallipoli including Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, ANZAC Cove, the Nek, Johnston's Jolly and the Kaba Tepe Gallipoli Museum. Overnight Canakkale 4*. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 4

Day 4 Gallipoli to Kusadasi via Troy and Pergamum
Today we step back in time as we visit Troy, famous for the legendary Trojan Horse from the times of beautiful Helen, Queen of Sparta and Paris, the Trojan Prince. Then we tour the magnificent Acropolis of Pergamum. Its impressive temples, library and medical facilities made Pergamum a renowned cultural and political centre in its time. An afternoon leather goods display follows. Overnight Kusadasi 4*. Breakfast and dinner.

Day 5

Day 5 Ephesus
Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of the impressive site of Ephesus. Walk down the Marble Road towards the Celsius Library, Domitianus Temple and the Grand Theatre. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the city halls and stadium where chariot and horse races were once held. Later we visit a carpet weaving village and learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value. Overnight Kusadasi 4*. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 6

Day 6 Priene - Miletos & Didyma
You will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast to depart for Priene. This was once a harbour city but is now located 16 km inland from the sea on the hills of the Mykale Mountain. It has many examples of Hellenic art and architecture. Alexander The Great lived in this city for a time. The theater in Priene is one of the most beautiful ones from The Hellenic World. The Athena Polias Temple was reconstructed by Alexander The Great as a gift to the city. After Priene, you will depart for Miletus. The ancient city of Miletus which once was one of the biggest cities in Anatolia, was located on the trade routes and it was for this reason that it became very prosperous and had many colonies. Miletus is famous for its genius philosophers and architects, such as Thales, Anaksimandros, Anaksimenes, Hippodamos and Isidoros. Miletus is also famous for the Faustina Baths. Lunch break after Miletus and then visit to Didyma. Didyma was not a city but a temple dedicated to Apollon. It was once one of the biggest temples in the Hellenic World. It was connected to Miletus by a holy road of 19 km.. Overnight Kusadasi 4*. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 7

Day 7 Pamukkale to Cappadocia
Tour the magnificent white calcium terraces of Pamukkale, followed by the ancient city of Hierapolis. Take a dip in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers (pool entry not included). After visiting the fantastic ruins and museum of Aphrodisias we continue to Cappadocia. Overnight Cappadocia S Class. Breakfast and lunch.

Day 8

Day 8 Cappadocia
In the morning arrival to Cappadocia. Transfer to your hotel and you have the rest of the day free. Overnight Cappadocia Cave Hotel.

Day 9

Day 9 Cappadocia
You will be picked up from Kayseri airport, bus station or your hotel and start to visit;
DEVRENT VALLEY has various types of fairy chimneys. Among these are those with caps, cones, mushroom like forms pillar and pointed rocks. With the action of smaller, secondary volcanoes and the action of rivers, wind and flood waters, this layer of tuff has slowly but steadily been eroded to produce the rock formations know as "fairy chimmeys". We will take a walk through this amazing valley.
ZELVE OPEN AIR MUSEUM has the most important churches in the valley. Balikli, Uzumlu, and Geyikli, blong to the Pre Iconoclastic period. The valley was inhabited until 1952. Apart from monasteries and churches, houses, a mill, a mosque, and several dovecotes are found in the valley.
PASABAGLARI (MONKS VALLEY) Many fairy chimneys with multiple stems and caps can be found here, this style being unique to this area. A chapel dedicated to St. Simeon and a hermit's shelter is built into one such fairy chimney with three heads.
AVANOS is known for the pottery, a craft dating back to the Hittite period. The red clay which is worked by local craftsmen comes from the residue in the Kizilirmak river. The Kizilirmak, which divides Avanos into two, is Anatolia's longest river.
GOREME OPEN AIR MUSEUM is the place where this religious education was started. You will visit the churhcesö chapels and monasteries carved into the fairy chimmeys from the 10th to the 13th centuries with fresgos painted on the walls. In the 4th century three important men created a now unity here they are the Great St. Basil, Bishop of Kayseri his brother St Gregory of Nyssa and St. George of Nazianus.
PIGEON VALLEY here you will see where the Pigeons and hear of how they were used to help the people. Some examples where to send messages and to fertiziize the grapes. Also you will see a wonderful panoromic view.
UCHISAR CASTLE is the highest point in the region. The castle and its surrounds used to be the most populated area this settlement, which resembles Ortahisar in style. The top of the citadel provides a magnificent panorama of the surrounding area. Overnight Cappadocia Cave Hotel. Breakfast and lunch.

Day 10

Day 10 Cappadocia
After breakfast you will be picked up from hotel around 09:00 and start to visit;
DERINKUYU or KAYMAKLI UNDERGROUND CITY these two underground cities where dwellings for the christian communitiest to use as refuges. It contains all the usual rooms found in an underground city such as stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches, and wineries. Apart from these, was a missionary school.
IHLARA VALLEY this canyon was created by the cracking and collapsing which occurred as basalt and andesite lava from Mt. Hassadag cooled. The Melendiz river found its way through these cracks, eroding the canyon bed and helping to form canyon we see today.
SELIME is situated at the end of the Ihlara valley. Fairy chimneys rest on the steep hillside, and a basilica style cathedral the Selime Sultan tomb, a hollowed out citadel and churches are also found here.
YAPRAKHISAR Monastery, panoramic view point.
AGZIKARAHAN CARAVANSERAI were a very important place for the Seljuk rulers of Anatolia to trade. They deveopled the old trade routes, and built Caravansaries along the way to act as shelters and provide protection to traders. Overnight Cappadocia Cave Hotel. Breakfast and lunch.

Day 11

Day 11 Cappadocia to Istanbul via Kayseri
Today we fly back to Istanbul. Transfer to your hotel and you have the rest of the day free. Overnight Istanbul 4*. Breakfast.

Day 12

Day 12 Istanbul
After breakfast take a Bosphorus Cruise through the waterway separating the two continents, Asia and Europe. Visit Dolmabahce Palace, the last residence for the Ottoman Sultans and then we pass over the Bosphorus Bridge and stop at the Camlica Hill, the best panoramic view of Istanbul and the Bosphorus. Overnight Istanbul 4*. Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 13

Day 13 Istanbul
The day is yours free to explore. The world famous Grand Bazaar beckons. Overnight Istanbul 4*. Breakfast

Day 14

Day 14 Istanbul - Home
After breakfast our tour concludes and we say goodbye to our new friends. Transfer to Airport. Breakfast
