Day 1

Day 1 : Istanbul - Tuesday 22nd April 2008
Welcome cocktail included
Welcome to Turkey, arrival into Istanbul. Transfer from airport & check in to your hotel. Welcome cocktail at 730pm at the hotel. Tonight we can take you to a welcome gala dinner with Traditional Turkish 1001 entertainment, an optional activity. You can meet our friendly crew and other travelers while enjoying traditional Turkish Food and enjoy the mystical atmosphere of Istanbul at night. The evening starts at 830pm.
Overnight at 3star Hotel in Istanbul.
Note!! Free transfers are available from Istanbul Ataturk Airport throughout today. Please confirm your flight details in advance. Transfers from Sabiha Gokcen Airport are at extra cost.

Day 2

Day 2 - Istanbul City tour: Wednesday 23rd April 2008

We depart from the hotel at 08:30 for the Istanbul city tour. TOPKAPI PALACE The great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed. SULTANAHMET IMPERIAL MOSQUE Across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the BLUE MOSQUE because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles.
HIPPODROME Ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Lunch break and then we head to the SPICE BAZAAR (Egyptian Bazaar) The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice. After the tour you have the option to experience The Bosphorous Cruise. You will have the chance to enjoy magnificent views of Bosphorous which is connecting Asia to Europe. Tonight nearly every tour group will have arrived. We have a welcome ANZAC PARTY arranged to meet and greet the groups and tour guides. This is an optional activity, unlimited local drinks from 9-11pm! Overnight at 3star Hotel in Istanbul.

Day 3

Day 3 : Gallipoli - Dawn Service : Thursday 24 April 2008

We depart for Gallipoli at 07:00 (4.5 hour drive). On the way we will have the chance to watch the latest documentary on the Gallipoli Campaign. We arrive in Gallipoli for lunch. We will have a ANZAC lunch on the coast of Gabatepe. We then start our tour of the Gallipoli Peninsula. We visit Kabatepe War Museum, Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Australia's Memorial and Cemetery, Quinns Post, Turkish 57th Regiment Cemetery, The Nek, Chunuk-Bair New Zealand Memorial and Cemetery. After the tour we drive to the coast of Gabatepe again for our big ANZAC BBQ buffet dinner (optional). Prior to dinner we will stop at a supermarket for additional supplies for our overnight stay at ANZAC Cove. To those who decline the fantastic buffet BBQ dinner, this will be your only stop for dinner also. After dinner at approx 21.30 pm we will depart for the Dawn Service. Overnight Anzac Cove.

Day 4

Day 4 : Dawn Service : Troy - Friday 25th April 2008

Don't forget your sleeping bags, warm clothes, wet weather gear and torches because Gallipoli is still as dark and cold today as it was 93 years ago when your ancestors landed.

After the services, we depart for the ancient city of Troy. (40 min drive) Your guide will explain the mythology surrounding Troy, the Trojan Horse and Helen of Troy. After Troy, we drive to our hotel (3 hours drive) in Ayvalik where we will have dinner at the Hotel. The evening is yours. You can enjoy the beach and the pool, relax and have fun with your new friends. Overnight in 3star Hotel Ayvalik.

Day 5

Day 5- Bergama tour / Kusadasii - Saturday 26th April 2008

Drive to Pergamum (45 minute drive) - see Asklepion, Zues alter, Red Bassilcia etc. BERGAMA is the site of the Hellenistic - and later Roman - city of
Pergamon, ruled for several centuries by a powerful local dynasty. Its foremost attraction is the Kizil Avlu or "Red Basilica", a huge edifice on the river not far from the acropolis, originally built as a temple to the Egyptian god Osiris and converted to a basilica by the early Christians, when it was one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor addressed by St John in the book of Revelation - though sadly it's now a crumbling ruin with a mosque in one of its towers. Then departure for Kusadasi. On the way, we will visit a place which continues to perform one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving centre. Then we have the option of a Turkish Bath before checking into your hotel. Have a rest till dinner time. After having dinner at your hotel, you will have the free time to stroll. Overnight 3star Hotel in Kusadasi.

Day 6

Day 6- Ephesus & Kusadasi : Sunday 27th April 2008

0830 we depart for Ephesus (20 min drive) - once the commercial centre of the ancient world - is a highlight of any visit to Turkey. The city, whose wealth and patronage supported its splendid architectural program, was dedicated to the goddess Artemis. Her enormous temple, once considered one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World and rebuilt several times, dates in its latest form from the third century B.C. The tour of the ruins also includes a theatre, gymnasium, agora and baths, as well as the Library of Celsus. After lunch, we will make a shopping tour in which you will be aware of the ancient arts of Turkey like leather manufacturing and jewellery. As this will be a guided tour, you will avoid the constant nagging and sometimes bullying that is well known in the markets of Turkey. Enabling you to enjoy the shopping experience whilst gaining the knowledge of the ancient craftsmen. Overnight in 3star Hotel Kusadasi.

Day 7

Day 7- Pamukkale Tour - Monday 28th April 2008

At 08:30 we depart for Pamukkale (2.5 hour drive). We then arrive at Pamukkale for lunch. Afterwards we shall visit the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis, then walk around this natural phenomenon and give you the option of lying in the waters of the natural springs. After our days activities we will check into our hotel in Pamukkale Dinner will be served at the hotel and the rest of the night is yours. Overnight in 3star Hotel Pamukkale.

Day 8

Day 8- Pamukkale & Istanbul : Tuesday 29th April 2008

After the breakfast, you can enjoy the thermal pool and sun till 10.00am. Then departure for Istanbul. (8.5 hour drive). The evening is yours to enjoy. Overnight in 3star Hotel Istanbul.

Day 9

Day 9- Istanbul Tour The End : Wednesday 30th April 2008

THE BOSPHOROUS CRUISE
Only available on the 23rd April for Silver Tour Groups

A traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion you will pass the magnificent Dolmabahçe Palace, and further along, the parks and imperial pavilions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park, is Çiragan Palace, 300 meters of is marble facade faces the shore. At Ortaköy a great variety of artists gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortaköy is a symbol of tolerance with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries.

Come and join us to celebrate your arrival to Turkey and the commemoration of the Anzac Services. Were putting a Party together and we want you to join us. The date is set for the 23rd of April and more information will follow as it comes in. €30 per person will buy you unlimited alcohol including Vodka, Gin, Bourbon, Beer, Raký, red and white wine. Its going to be huge



TURKISH BATH (HAMAM)
Available anytime in Istanbul or on the 26th of April in Kusadasi

PRICE: € 15.00 per person

Taking a Turkish bath firstly involves relaxing in a room (known as the warm room) that is heated by a continuous flow of hot dry air allowing the bather to perspire freely. Bathers may then move to an ever hotter room (known as the hot room) before splashing themselves with cold water. After performing a full body wash and receiving a massage, bathers finally retire to the cooling-room for a period of relaxation.

For those that are only coming for the Anzac Services or are unable to take the time off we offer the Hamam in Istanbul. For those that are coming to enjoy Turkey as well as the Anzac Services we offer the Hamam in the Beautiful coastal city of Kusadasi
