Day 1
- Sit back and enjoy the spectacular journey all the way east up the Rhône valley through a rocky gorge to the Goms region.
- Stop where you choose - visit a local pâtisserie on the way - stop for a spot of shopping at the local Swiss outdoor stores on the way home.
- Marvel at the true winter wonderland of the calm and relaxing surrounds of Oberwald village at an altitude of 1350 m.
- Strap on some cross-country skis and while away the day on over 100 km of groomed tracks.
- Cross-country ski from village to village - stop for lunch and enjoy this most incredible landscape.
- Try classic or skating styles of cross-country skiing - it's easy to pickup the basics.
- Take in the character of this slow moving place with its sun-darkened wooden chalets and the wide open cross-country skiing tracks.
- Arrive back at the doorstep of your hotel/apartment at the end of the day.

So you've decided to try your hand at cross-country skiing but you don't feel like skiing around in circles?! Head east up the valley to Switzerland's second-largest cross-country ski area; Goms. Mile after glorious winter wonderland mile, over 100kms of the most beautiful cross-country skiing terrain. With the cross-country pistes prepared each morning, you'll make your way right through the villages of the Goms valley, along the frozen Rhône river and through snow covered larch forests. For lunch you'll stop and relax at any number of the local inns, enjoy the excellent cuisine and chill out with a glass of mulled wine while basking in the warm winter sun sparkling over the mountain ridges. At the end of the day we'll take a leisurely drive back to Crans-Montana and maybe stop on the way for a spot of shopping or sight seeing. The choice is yours.

ABOUT THE AREA
With snow from the valley floor right up to the highest peaks, Goms is a genuine winter wonderland. Goms is located at the northeastern part of Valais with the valley stretching from Grengiols to the Rhône glacier. The landscape of the upper Rhône River is well known for its pristine beauty and wonderful tranquility.
