El Burgo de Osma was a central axis and major stopover for pilgrims travelling from Zaragoza to Santiago de Compostela, along one of the many Caminos de Sanitago and boasts one of Spain's most important cathedrals. Its portico Main Street and small lanes are ideal for exploration on foot. Sitting on the hill above El Burgo de Osma, are the remains of the Roman settlement of Uxama, offering great views across the Reconquest frontier lands.

For those interested in nature the Canyon Rio Lobos offers stunning scenery and a hidden Knights Templar Hermitage.
Day 3
Explore the medieval market town of Berlanga de Duero and learn about its connection with El Cid.

The small village of San Estaban de Gormaz is home to one of the oldest churches of the region. The porticoed entrance a photographers delight.
Day 5
Stop by the small remote 11th century hermitage church of San Baudelio, which contains one of the most important examples of âMozarabe' art. Its colourful detailed frescos painted between the 11th and 12th centuries are of Christian and Arab influences.
Day 6
Take time to visit Calatanazor. It was through this picturesque village with its adobe facades, conical chimneys and narrow lanes that pilgrims passed on route to El Burgo de Osma.
