Day 1
Highlights
*Transfagarasan - a highroad cut straight in the mountain walls, this twisty paved highway is 2000 meters above sea level.
*Bran Castle - Dracula's Castle in Transylvania, the place where Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula, was arrested and imprisoned.
*Corvinestilor Castle- the greatest Gothic style castle in Romania
*A unique artist - Emil Muresan the only one who uses spider web for his paintings
*Fagaras Citadel - including the restaurant situated in the vault of the citadel
*Sighisoara Citadel - the best preserved and still inhabited medieval citadel in Europe, the birth place of Vlad the Impaler, also known as Count Dracula!
*The fortified church in Biertan - a UNESCO World Heritage Site
DAY 1 Budapest - Szeged - Arad
Welcome to Budapest, you'll connect with our guide, a motorcycle enthusiast and a 100% Transylvanian. Ride to Szeged, rightfully called Sun City, enjoy a city tour. For lunch we strongly recommend Halaszcsarda, Fishermen Tavern, one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Accommodate in Arad in a 3* hotel, centrally located. Enjoy a welcome dinner and convince yourself of the Transylvanian hospitality! Optional activities: good pubs, discotheques, the largest swimming pool in Southern Europe!
Day 2
Arad - Hunedoara - Sibiu
Today you'll visit Corvinestilor Castle in Hunedoara, the greatest Gothic style castle in Romania, once the residence of Iancu de Hunedoara a "close and dear friend" of Dracula. Visit Sibiu, the European Cultural capital of 2007. The fortified town of Sibiu has always been the centre of Romania's German minority since medieval times and it is one of Romania's most beautiful cities. Accommodate in Sibiel in country-inns, a village close to Sibiu, where you'll enjoy a traditional Saxon home cooked dinner!
TIP: Ride in horse drawn carriages and absorb the rural atmosphere of Sibiel Village.
Day 3
Sibiel - Sibiu - Fagaras - Bran - Brasov
An incredible ride for you today, you'll head first to Balea Lake, crossing the Transfagarasan, a highroad cut straight in the mountain walls, this twisty paved highway is 2000 meters above sea level. Next stop is Fagaras, the 650 years old citadel. The best place for lunch here is the restaurant situated in the vault of the citadel. From Fagaras we ride to Bran Castle, the residence of Count Dracula! Accommodate in Brasov, 3* hotel. Plenty of night life opportunities: pubs, lively clubs, discos.
Day 4
Brasov - Rasnov - Brasov
Visit Brasov - a city with an outstanding medieval atmosphere. Three quarters of the city is surrounded by mountains, and it is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe. Take a trip to Rasnov Citadel, the largest peasant citadel in Southern Eastern Europe. Accommodate in Brasov, 3* hotel.
Day 5
Brasov - Sighisoara
Ride to Sighisoara - Europe's most beautiful and still inhabited fortified citadel, UNESCO European heritage site. The medieval fortified citadel of Sighisoara is also the birth place of Price Vlad the Impaler also known as Count Dracula! Visit The Clock Tower, The torture room and the Medieval Weapon Collection. For dinner we recommend Casa Vlad Dracul Restaurant - the very place where Dracula was born!
Day 6
Sighisoara - Turda
Start your day with the fortified church in Biertan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, thevillage is one of the first German settlements in Transylvania. You can shop here for souvenirs at one of the finest handicraft shops in Romania. Ride to Medias and make the acquaintance of the only artist who uses spider web for his paintings. Accommodate in Turda in a 4* Hotel.
Day 7
Turda
Next stop is your choice. You can choose to take the ride home or to expand your trip by choosing, as Add on program to participate at the Eastern European Vintage Bike Rally in Turda.
