Itinerary
Day 1
ROUTING: BUCHAREST : SINAIA
- Your English-speaking specialist guide will pick you up from your location in
Bucharest (Hotel, Airport, etc...)
- If arrival time allows, we will have short city tour of the capital city
- We will see such sites as the House of the Free Press, Herastrau Park, the
Village Museum, the Arch of Triumph and Victoria Place : the entrance point to
the center of the city.
- Depart for Sinaia
- Arrival and check in to your hotel
- Evening at your leisure
ACCOMMODATION: Hotel Bastion *** or similar
Day 2
ROUTING: SINAIA - BRAN - SIGHISOARA - BRASOV
- Breakfast in hotel
- In the morning visit the Peles Castle, former summer residence of the kings of
Romania. Nowadays the Castle is one of the most important museums in
Transylvania with an impressive collection of furniture and ornamental objects,
carpets, tapestry, sculptures, paintings, collections of weapons from the 15th
up to the19th centuries.
- We then head to Bran, and visit the disputed home of Dracula. Then after a
guided visit of the world famous Bran Castle
- Why is Bran so famous? It is a rich village, situated 28 km from Brasov, the
village commands the entrance to the pass of the same name, once the main route
into Wallachia.
- After Bran, we depart for the birthplace of the real life Dracula; Sighisoara
- The old medieval city of Sighisoara is included on UNESCO's Word Heritage
list. The Old Town or the Citadel is the only one still inhabited in Europe - a
lost world and still so at the present!
- In 1431, the storey house at Museum Square 6, within the shadow of the old
town's Clock Tower, a women whose name is lost to posterity gave birth to a son
called Vlad, who in later life earned the title of The Impaler , abroad better
known as Dracula, derived from Dracul or the Devil : referring to his father
Vlad Dracul, whom the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund of Hungary made a knight of
the order of The Dragon in 1431.
- Highlights of the Citadel include The Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill, the
Scholar's Stairs, The Monastery Church, the towers of the citadel (originally
fourteen), The Shoemakers Town, the Tailor's Tower, the Tinsmiths Tower are only
a few of the marvels of this place called Sighisoara.
- We end the day in the medieval Saxon city of Brasov
- Evening at your leisure

ROUTING: BRASOV - BUCHAREST
- Breakfast in hotel
- This morning we will have a walking tour of the medieval center of Brasov
- After a transfer to Bucharest Airport and the final good-bye from your private
guide and your new friend Vlad Tepes

- This 2 night excursion from Bucharest is designed to give you a taste of Transylvania, and its most famous past resident; Dracula. Upon your arrival to Bucharest, our English-speaking guide will escort you first to the world famous resort of Sinaia. The next morning we will tour Peles Palace. Built by King Carol of Romania, this palace is beyond belief in its detail and scenery. After touring the palace, we will stop for lunch at a wonderful restaurant in Sinaia. We will also tour the Orthodox Monastery in Sinaia.
From Sinaia, we will head deeper into Transylvania. Our next stop will be Bran Castle, disputed home of the fictional Dracula. After Bran, we leave for Sighisoara, and visit the only inhabited walled citadel in Europe, and the birthplace of the real life Dracula; Vlad Tepes. We then head to the medieval city of Brasov for your 2nd night.
The following day we will have a short tour of the historical center of Brasov, before heading back to Bucharest to return you to your final destination.
