rock slide blocking the river Bicajel;

Starting from Bucharest, the capital of the country, this tour invites the cyclists to discover the beautiful scenery of Romania. From the deep valleys to the top of the mountains nature welcomes you and offers the best landscape in Easter Europe. It's your unique chance to visit the painted monasteries from Northern Moldavia, part of UNESCO heritage, or to attend a traditional country wedding in historical region of Maramures. Moreover, if you are a Dracula fan, you wouldn't want to miss Dracula's Castle in Bran, the Bistrita region or his birthplace in the medieval "Upper Town" of Sighisoara all of them placed in Transylvania.

Romania is probably also the last place in Europe where you can still see unspoiled countryside, with the traditional rural civilization still alive. Discover the northern provinces with their old handicrafts, friendly people fiercely dressed in their folk costumes, horse or oxen-drawn carriages, with colorful villages where time seems to have stood still.

Difficulty: The tour is for those who cycle regularly. It includes some steep climbs and distances of between 30-55 miles/50-100 km per day.

Ride profile: Routes follow a mix of quiet tarmac roads; traffic levels generally medium. Cycling guide accompanies the group and a support vehicle follows every day, except for some where vehicles don't have access.
