Built between 1873-1915, it distinguishes itself by its particular architecture, comparable to the most famous palaces in the world. It holds impressive plastic and decorative art collection. In 1899 King Carol I built a castle for heirs Ferdinand and Mary, the Pelisor Castle, the most expressive Art Nouveau style monument of Romania. The collections includes Romanian and European painting masters, furniture and decorative art pieces.9.30h

BRAN CASTLE, DRACULA'S HORROR HOUSE, GIFT MARKET, ETHMOGRAFIC PARK: Located between Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains, was imposed by strategic and economic reasons at the end of the XIV century as fortress. Here Vlad Dracul (Dracula) stayed few years of his adventurous life. Between 1920-1947, as Royal Residence, the castle suffered a series of architectural renovations, lead by the Czech architect Karel Liman, who also worked at the castles Peles and Pelisor. Two towers for stairs were added, the bulwarks and the shooting gaps became windows, the stoves and the hearths became modern fireplaces.12.30h
RASNOV MEDIEVAL FORTRESS: It is an old peasant refuge fortress unique for its style and position with its first documentary attestation from 1331. The fortress is very impressive due to its position among several mountains. The fortress was built by the Teutonic Knights on a calcareous rock 150 m high. Inside the fortress there is a well 143 m deep. The outer walls were 5 m tall and the fountain inside the walls is 98 m deep and took 15 years to dig. Entrance is made through a massively fortified tower, an outpost half-round Bastion provided with numerous firing outlets and arrow loops and with a wall-walk for the defenders. The Saxon villagers would take shelter there during sieges. 14.30h
POIANA BRASOV MOUNTAIN RESORT: All seasons resort, it is well known as one of the best budget ski resort on the Central-Eastern Europe. The resort altitude is 1030m, the highest peak Postavarul is at the altitude of 1803m. Poiana Brasov has 12 ski slopes of various difficulty degrees, 11 lifts (3 cable-cars, 8 ski-lifts) and very good multi-language ski trainers. In the center of the resort there is a lake surrounded by very nice hotels. The area offers many choices for lunch or dining.16.00h
BRASOV, THE MEDIEVAL CITY: In the centre of Romania, Brasov is an old medieval burg, a city surrounded by the most famous mountain resorts, a great place for relaxation so hard to find in other great urban agglomerations. Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
