At the end of the 2860 km road, beginning with Black Forest Mountains in Germany and ending with the Romanian Black Sea shore, Danube Delta is a true natural heaven. In time, Danube Delta was transformed into a network of lakes and channels, woods, sand dunes which covers 5460 square km. This amazing wet region hosts over 300 species of birds, and the 1150 species of plants cover a big variety, beginning with the lianas from oak forests and ending with water lilies.

For over 5000 years, small human communities lived in harmony in nature, while fishing, raising cows and exploiting rattan. The villages crossed by watery roads stay still expecting the tourists. The visitor can explore this universe of the silence in boats.

In August 1990, the Danube Delta was declared by UNESCO reservation of the biosphere. It is made up of the delta and the complex of lagoons Razim-Sinoe.

No matter if you’re here for cycling or just for enjoying the peaceful nature untouched by human hands, you can spend in the Danube Delta the best 8 days of your summer.

Difficulty: For the infrequent cyclist mainly on the flat. Distances of between 15-25 miles/ 25-40 kms per day.

Ride profile: Routes follow a unsurfaced trails; traffic levels generally very low. Cycling guide accompanies the group and a support vehicle (car /boat) follows every day, except for some stretches where vehicles don’t have access.
