Day 2
NOT MON, TUE - BUCHAREST â Peles Castle and Pelisor Castle â Bran Castle â Rasnov Fortress â BRASOV
From Bucharest, the road takes you across the Danubian field to the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, to Sinaia - the summer residence of the old kings of Romania. You will visit the two castles in Sinaia, i.e. Peles and Pelisor castles, set up in different styles by the Romanian royal family. Then you will go on, crossing the mountains through a beautiful scenery where the forest is interrupted from time to time by scenic clearings. Later on you will visit Bran Castle, set up by the Saxons upon the Wallachian â Transilvanian border of the time. Vlad the Impaler is said to have haunted this place once or twice. In the afternoon, you will go to Rasnov Fortress from where you have a great view to the surrounding mountains. In the evening you will be accommodated in a 3* hotel in Brasov.
⢠Visit the royal castles, Peles and Pelisor
⢠Cross the Carpathians into Transylvania
⢠Visit to Bran Castle
⢠Visit to Rasnov Fortress
⢠Optional: traditional dinner
⢠Overnight in Brasov, 3* hotel
Day 3
NOT MON - BRASOV â Viscri Fortified Church â Sighisoara - SIBIU
Today you will have a tour of Brasov City, with its Black Church, the elegant Council Square and St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Then you will leave this city across the Transylvanian plateau and will abandon the main road for a dust road leading you to one of the most fascinating places around, Viscri Fortified Church, where the old caretakers of the place, some of the few Saxons still living here, will show you around this once vivid place. These churches were built in the 13th â 16th century and they were fortified later on because of the often Turkish invasions. Later on you will reach Sighisoara, the place where Vlad the Impaler is supposed to have been born. Then you will leave Sighisoara en route to the West, reaching Sibiu, having a city tour there. You will be accommodated in a 3* central hotel or in a 3* Saxon guesthouse in Sibiu.
⢠City tour of Brasov
⢠Visit to Viscri Fortified Church
⢠Optional: traditional dinner in Casa Vlad Dracul, the place where Vlad the Impaler was born
⢠Visit to Sighisoara Fortress, the place where Vlad the Impaler was supposedly born
⢠Overnight in Sibiu, in a 3* hotel or Saxon guesthouse
Day 4
NOT MON - SIBIU â Transfagarasan Road in Fagaras Mountains / Olt Gorges (depending on weather and time of the year) - Curtea de Arges Monastery â Targoviste Fortress - BUCHAREST
In the morning you will leave Sibiu and Transylvania taking Romania's highest asphalted road that crosses the Transylvanian Alps (Fagaras Mountains) through a 2042 m.a.s.l. tunnel. The scenery is impressive, with glacial lakes, fir tree forests, extensive pastures and rocky cliffs. Then the fairy tale will take you to Dracula's real castle in Poienari, hung up on a rock at the bottoms of Romania's highest mountains. If weather does not permit this route or if you come here during the winter closure (mid October â early July), the section between Sibiu and Curtea de Arges will be done along the scenic Olt Gorges. Then you go down and you will visit the impressive Monastery of Curtea de Arges, haunted by a very interesting legend. On the way to Bucharest you will make a final stop in Targoviste, one of the places from where Vlad the Impaler ruled over Wallachia. The legend ends here, with a peek from the Sunset Tower (Turnul Chindiei).
⢠Ride along Transfagarasan Road

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
