DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1, Thursday, Bucharest - Sinaia - Rasnov - Poiana Brasov
Our English speaking guide picks you up from the Bucharest Airport and leads you to Peles Castle in Sinaia - one of the most beautiful royal residences in Europe which served as retreat residence for most of Romania's monarchs. Next stop is Rasnov Peasant Citadel, built on a calcareous rock. The citadel is one of the best preserved peasant refugee fortresses in Transylvania. Accommodation in 4* hotel in Poiana Brasov. For dinner we recommend Outlaws Hut, where you can delight yourselves with traditional Romanian cuisine and taste the finest Romanian wines.
Day 2
Friday, Poiana Brasov - Bran - Brasov - Sighisoara
You start the day with Bran Castle, Vlad Dracula's castle in Transylvania, the place where Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula, was arrested and imprisoned.
Say your prayers; next stop is the Horror Castle, a special treat dedicated for the strong-hearted! Spend the night in Sighisoara, the best preserved and still inhabited medieval citadel in Europe. For dinner we recommend Casa Vlad Dracul Restaurant, the very place where Vlad the Impaler was borne, turned today into a cosy restaurant.
Day 3
Saturday, Sighisoara - Biertan - Medias - Sibiu
You are now in the heart of the medieval citadel of Sighisoara. Stroll around the medieval streets of the citadel and visit the Clock Tower, the Medieval Weapon Collection and the Torture Room. Next stop is the Saxon Fortified Church of Biertan, one of the best preserved fortified churches in Romania. In Medias, make the acquaintance of a unique artist, an interesting character, the only one in the world who uses spider webs for his paintings. Spend the night in Sibiu, the European Cultural Capital of 2007. Enjoy a traditional dinner in one of the oldest restaurants. Accommodate in a 3* hotel.
Day 4
Sunday, Sibiu - Poienari - Arefu - Curtea de Arges - Bucharest
Morning drive to Poienari Citadel to visit the ruins of the old citadel. Built on a cliff top near Arges River, Poienari Citadel used to be Dracula's refugee place. Travel across Arefu Village and listen to the legends about Vlad the Impaler kept alive to this day by the villagers. Next stop is Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. You'll accommodate in a 3* central located hotel. For dinner we recommend Count Dracula Club, a restaurant with a strong medieval touch, where you can even have a face to face meeting with the bloody count.
Day 5
Monday, Bucharest - Snagov - Bucharest
Travel to Snagov. Cross the lake to visit Snagov Monastery, the place where it is believed Vlad Dracula was buried. (In case the weather will not allow it, you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Bucharest and a visit to Parliament Palace, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon and the largest administrative building in Europe, a legacy of a more recent vampire : ex Dictator Nicolae Ceausescu).
It is now time to say good by to Romania. Transfer to the Airport.

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
