The estate Clingendael ('valley between the dunes') is situated between The Hague and Wassenaar. The vast, inclining lawns, the clumps of trees and the unique water features are typical for the garden art of that time. The Clingendael estate still offers a true glimpse of the past.

There were once nineteen windmills built on the city walls of Leiden but only De Valk is still standing today. 'De Valk' (The Falcon) is a tower mill, dating from 1743. It has seven floors, all of which are open to the public.

{italic}Saturday - 25 April{-italic}
Today the annual Flower Parade will leave Noordwijk to travel its 40-km. route along main roads to arrive in Haarlem. The procession will be comprised of 20 large floats and more than 30 decorated luxury cars, interspersed with marching bands. The work in progress, of the decoration of the floats, with millions of flowers by hundreds of volunteers can be viewed in Sassenheim.

Enjoy a fascinating sight at the flower auction of Aalsmeer (flower capital of the world). It will dazzle you.
At "De Cruquius", you experience how the Haarlemmermeerpolder was drained and land was created out of water.

Haarlem bears the nickname 'Bloemenstad' (flower city). Nearby Haarlem is the largest dune-areas of the Netherlands with typical Dutch flora and fauna.
