Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival at Palermos airport, meeting with your escort and transfer to a farm house. Check-in and meeting to discuss the program. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Wine and wineries
Breakfast. Visit of one of Sicilys most prestigious wineries and tasting of 4 wines combined with a rustic lunch under the guidance of an expert. In the afternoon, cooking lesson. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Pastry
Breakfast. Visit of a famous Sicilian pastry maker workroom to discover the unforgettable flavours of Sicilian pastry and the secrets of the old recipes of the cannolo (tubular crust filled with ricotta cream filling) and the cassata (cake of sweet ricotta cream filling in a crust of frosting and candied fruits).
Day 4
Art, cuisine and wine
Breakfast. Meeting with the person who make you discover in Palermo in an informal way. You will begin walking through the city centre to arrive at one of Palermos most animated open-air street market, Il Capo, which is very similar to an Arab souk. Overwhelmed by the light, the odours and the voices, you will feel a real inhabitant of this city. You could buy olives, capers and some herbs. As food tells a lot about history, we will stop to taste panelle (fried chick-pea flour pancakes), arancini (fried rice balls filled with meat), sfincione (thick pizza topped with tomatoes, onions and anchovies) and drink a glass of Marsala wine or freshly made orange juice. Afterwards, you will admire churches, monuments, squares and palaces. You will end up in an old palatial residence that hosts a permanent exhibition about Sicilian wines. A tasting of local wines will be combined with a buffet of typical food under the guidance of an expert. Afternoon at leisure for shopping or a stro
ll along Viale Libertà and its beautiful buildings. Back to the farm house, dinner and overnight.
Day 5
Breakfast. Day at leisure to take advantage of all the farm house facilities: you can relax by the swimming pool, or discover the surroundings walking, horse riding or with a mountain bike. Lunch, dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Cheese
Breakfast. Visit of a dairy where we will discover all the secrets of making Sicilian cheeses such as the ricotta or the caciocavallo. In the afternoon, cooking lesson. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7
Breakfast. Visit of some countryside villages between history and traditions. In the afternoon, cooking lesson. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. End of service.
