Join Chefs Valter Roman and Alvaro Maccioni at the luxurious Villa al Boschiglia in Lucca for an inspiring culinary journey, an experience of a lifetime to live, eat and drink Italian with Italians.
Itinerary
Day 1
Transfers from Pisa or Florence airports/train stations for arrival at the villa on the outskirts of Lucca around midday for a welcome buffet lunch prepared by your Italian chefs Alvaro Maccioni and Valter Roman.
o Buffet lunch - meet your hosts & cooking colleagues with time to settle in and relax before the first hands-on cooking lesson.
o Hands-on cooking lesson with preparation of dinner.
o Welcome aperitivi and orientation before dinner
Day 2
o Breakfast available
o Join us for a leisurely morning stroll around the ancient walls of Lucca.
o Pasta and its Sauces - a specially themed cooking lesson.
o Lunch alfresco followed by a short guided tour of Pisa & its Leaning Tower.
o Hands-on cooking lesson and preparation of dinner.
o Aperitivi and dinner
Day 3
o Breakfast available
o Depart for a Chianti adventure stopping off at an enchanting market town as well as renowned vineyard for wine-tasting and lunch followed by a further vineyard and distillery visit.
o Leave Chianti and return home for an informal pizza supper in the lively village trattoria, just a short walk from the villa.
Day 4
o Breakfast available.
o Chef's tour of the bustling market town of Pistoia to choose fresh produce for dinner followed by a kitchen challenge where students and chefs work together to prepare a buffet lunch with items found at the market.
o Lunch followed by free time to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the villa.
o Hands-on cooking lesson and preparation of a special wine-tasting dinner.
o Introduction to the wines of Tuscany followed by dinner with wine tastings to accompany each course.
Day 5
o Breakfast available
o Guided tour through Lucca followed by a specially selected tasting menu for lunch at Valter's restaurant, The Gazebo at Locanda L'Elisa. After lunch there's plenty of time to discover Lucca for yourself with great shopping along Via Filungo or to return to the peaceful haven of the villa for an afternoon of relax.
o Hands-on cooking lesson and preparation of dinner.
o Aperitivi and dinner.
Day 6
o Breakfast available.
o A visit to see the Bernardini family still in residence at Villa Bernardini, a stunning Lucchese villa dating back to 1615. Tour the villa and it's beautiful gardens before heading off on a 2 hour walk through the hills to a hidden away restaurant where a special lunch has been arranged.
o Lunch followed by a free afternoon to relax or do some last minute shopping in Lucca.
o Hands-on cooking lesson and preparation of dinner.
o Farewell drinks, graduation ceremony and celebration dinner.
Day 7
o Breakfast available and transfers to your next onward destination.

- For a 6 day (Sunday to Saturday) hands-on cooking course with luxury en-suite accommodation in a 17th century villa, all food & house-wine, the cost of pre-arranged restaurants, transfers to and from Pisa Airport, Florence Airport & Lucca Train Station, transport for all arranged outings, guided tours & entrances to museums as arranged, wine tours/tastings. On arrival, each student will be presented with a course guide, a cookbook of course recipes & an apron. Graduation certificates are presented on the final evening.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
