Itinerary
Day 1
Roussillon
Situated in the heart of one of the biggest ocher deposits in the world, Roussillon is famous for its magnificent red cliffs and ocher quarries.
Gordes is one of the "in" villages of Luberon where many movies stars and artists have made their home. Its houses of white and gray stone rise up in a spiral around the rock where the village is set.
Abbey of Senanque and lavender fields blooming from june 15th to august 10th.
Lavender Museum
Day 2
The Pont du Gard is located in the heart of a beautiful region, is one of the very special highlights. This engineering feat, built by the Romans in the 1st century BC, was part of a 50-meter long aqueduct which carried waters from Uzes to Nimes.
Arles,
The Fondation Van Gogh is another absolute must attraction in the area. Filled to bursting with works by contemporary artists.
The Arenas, a visit to the ancient arena, Les Arenes, open daily, except during events ; is a must. The views over the towns higgledy-piggledy rooftops are worth the entrance fee alone. The arena is still home to regular bullfights and photography enthusiasts will enjoy the way the light falls on its ancient stones.
Theatre Antique, Pop down to the interesting Theatre Antique an outdoor Roman style semi circle theatre that sat 12,000 people. Emperor Augustus built it at the end of the first century BC. It was later used as a quarry, so much of what you see today is in ruins, but it is still used for outdoor performances.
Les Baux-de-Provence is unique among the many attractions in Provence. It is both an ancient ruin and a quaint much visited town. It perches for nearly a mile along a narrow strip of land jutting up from the valley floor, and surrounded on three sides by the sheer jagged cliffs of the Alpilles Mountain range.
Open every day from March 1st, 2008 till January 6th 2009 From 10 a.m to 5 p.m. Closing time at 6 p.m from April 1st till September 30th.
Day 3
Chateauneuf du Pape
The Great vineyards tour to discover Chateauneuf du Pape
I have selected the best wine cellars.
Wine tasting is a delicate art, our host will know how to surprise you in having you distinguish the different flavors in a wine.
The white wines offer a nuance of plums and white flowers.
The other reds are more structured with blended tannins that present a nice body with purple blue tint as well as an aromatic intensity with hints of red and black fruits and spices. The sun enables the elaboration of warm and rounded wines.
These wine cellars have a real "savoir faire", they have mixed the best vines. Grand wines were born from their love and passion for their work.
Orange: Triumph Arch, Built c 20 BC and later dedicated to Tiberius, the arch commemorated the campaign of the II Legion.
Roman Theatre Built during Augustus reign , the theatre is rightly the pride of the city, as it is the only Roman theatre which has managed to conserve its stage wall almost intact.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
