Itinerary

Day 1

we meet at 7.30 pm in the hall of Hotel La Muette. We will have dinner after that.

Day 2

we paint from 9 am until 1 pm at the park where Van Gogh was painting. In the afternoon we go to see place of the "Yellow house" of Van Gogh. Slides at 6 pm and dinner after that.

Day 3

we paint at Hotel Dieu garden (hospital of Van Gogh, where he painted a very famous painting) Slides at 6 pm and dinner after that.

Day 4

we move to the country side near Saint Remy in the morning. You will paint in the country side around the farm house. Slides at 6 pm and dinner after that.

Day 5

Visit to Saint Paul de Mausole, Van Gogh's hospital at Saint Remy. Lunch at a farmhouse. Painting around Saint Paul de Mausole. Slides at 6.30 pm.

Day 6

painting at lavender fields in July or at poppy fields in May. Visit to Chateau Romanin wine cellar in the afternoon. Slides at 6 pm and dinner in Saint Remy after that.

Day 7

In the morning painting at the farm. Afternoon for finishing paintings and visit to the village of Le Beaux and Chateau Estoublan, and another wine cellar Cave de Serragan. Final critique. Slides of Tjaša's work. Dinner in Saint Remmy.

Inclusions -
Cocktail the first evening, 7 nights in a double room with breakfast - 3 nights at Arles in a historical 2 star hotel Hotel La Muette or equivalent, and the following 4 nights we will stay in the country near Saint Remy at a farmhouse Bergerie de Fregoli or Mas de Mouret or an equivalent Bed & Breakfast, 6 dinners & 1 lunch (wine included) in typical Provencal restaurants, 6 days of lessons with evening slide lectures (acrylic colors, brushes, paper, canvases, use of painting boards, French easels and chairs included), transportation to our painting locations, visit to Espace Van Gogh, Saint Paul de Mausole – Van Gogh’s hospital at Saint-Remy and galleries, historical village Le- Baux-de-Provence, Chateau d’Estoublon, wineries - cellars with wine tastings as: Chateau d'Estoublon, Cave de Sarragan and Chateau Romanin.
Extras -
During our painting course emphasis will be put on perception and observation, as the bases to painting. Tjasa Iris will help you develop your personal outlook, as well as inspire your imagination in all this magical places and help you appreciate art to the full. You will paint 4 hours every morning. You may work on sketches for the first few days, and than proceed to more accomplished works derived from these last. Or you may simply paint two or three works a day. If for some reason, you want to wonder and explore the territory during these days, you are pleased to do so. In the evenings we will discuss the work done during the day and see numerous slides of contemporary and modern art. Many color theory lessons. An evening art appreciation course. Many excursions... We will paint in places where Vincent Van Gogh was painting. As well as on other beautiful locations in Provence. Art class is opend to participants of all ages and levels from beginners to advanced. You will also learn A LOT about culture, art, history, gastronomy and wine of the country that you will be visiting. Tjasa Iris is holding painting workshops in Italy, France and Slovenia since 1996. Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:

  • It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
