Itinerary
Day 1
Albena-Arbanasi-Veliko Turnovo-Gabrovo
Departure for architectural preserve museum the village of Arbanasi with its monuments of secular and cult architecture from 16th : 17th century. Visiting Petropavlovski monastery connected with the Bulgarian rebel movement against the Turkish yoke in 19th century. Visiting the house of Konstantsaliev and the church Birth of Christ with its unique murals. Lunch. Departure for Veliko Turnovo : one of most beautiful Bulgarian cities, situated like an amphitheatre above the Iantra river. Visiting the castle Tsarevets : one of the Medieval capitals of Bulgaria. Walk in Samovodska charshia. On the way to Gabrovo visiting the Drianovski monastery. Dinner and stay overnight in Gabrovo.
Day 2
Gabrovo-Kazanlàk-Koprivshtitsa
Walk in Etàra : the only one outdoor museum representing the life in a typical Bulgarian craftsman settlement in the 18th-19th century. Narrow stone streets, drinking water stone fountains, old style houses representing the spirit of the Bulgarian Revival Period. The rout is passing through Balkan mountains through Shipka and continues to Kazanlàk. Visiting the historical monument Shipka. Lunch in Kazanlàk. Visiting the Ethnographical museum, demonstration - producing of rose attar , treatment with rose liquor and rose petals jam. Possibility for visiting one of the biggest and richest Thracian tombs on our lands situated in the Goliama Kosmatka mount and the Archeological museum in Kazanlàk with its display of artifacts found during excavation in the vicinity of the mount (additional entrance fee applies at these museums). Departure for Koprivshtitsa : one of the most beautiful Bulgarian Renaissance villages, a town museum full of life, harmony and beauty. Walk in the old fashioned streets. Visiting the house of Oslekov. Dinner and stay overnight in Koprivshtitsa.
Day 3
Koprivshtitsa-Sofia
Breakfast and departure for Sofia. Panoramic round trip of the city with visiting the cathedral Al. Nevski, basilica St. Sofia, rotunda St. George, Russian church St. Nikolai. Lunch. Free time. Possibility for visiting the exclusively rich National historical museum representing the Bulgarian history from ancient times till now days (additional entrance fee applies). Dinner and stay overnight in Sofia.
Day 4
Sofia-Rilski monastery-Bansko
Departure for Rilski monastery : the biggest tourist attraction among the Bulgarian monasteries with its size, architecture, murals, ancient history and beautiful nature around, included in UNESCO world heritage list of cultural monuments. Visiting the monastery complex, lunch. Departure for Bansko : picturesque town in the mountain situated in the foot of Pirin mountain, famous with its original architecture, two-story stone houses, a multitude of hotels and pubs. Dinner and stay overnight in Bansko.
Day 5
Bansko-Plovdiv
Departure for Plovdiv : one of the oldest cities in Europe, founded in the 4th century BC from Philip Makedonski, father of Alexandur the Great, and the second largest city in Bulgaria after the capital Sofia. Lunch. Walk in the Old town of Plovdiv : visiting the Ethnographical museum located in a beautiful Renaissance house; The Antique theatre : built from Marc Avrelii in the II c. : the most impressive construction from Roman times kept till now days; the church of St. Konstantin and St. Elena. Dinner and stay overnight in Plovdiv.
Day 6
Plovdiv-Bachkovski monastery-Burgas
Departure for Bachkovski monastery : one of the oldest monasteries on the Balkan peninsula and the second largest in Bulgaria after Rilski monastery, combined three acting cultures : Bysantine, Old Georgian and Bulgarian. Its preserved unique architectural and art monuments are precious for the whole Orthodox culture. Lunch on the way. Dinner and stay overnight in Burgas.
Day 7
Burgas-Nessebar-Albena
Departure for Nessebur : a town museum founded in the 6th century BC, exclusively rich in ancient architectural monuments. Walk in the old part of the town included in UNESCO world heritage list of cultural monuments. Lunch. Departure for Varna : the third largest city in Bulgaria, The pearl of the Bulgarian Black sea coast. Free time. Possibility for visiting the Archeological museum ( additional entrance fee applies). Arrival in Albena.
