Tour Highlights - A fantastic 3 day tour visiting Christmas markets in Belgium and Germany!
Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1 - We start our 3 day tour from your chosen UK departure point. We travel to Brussels by modern executive coach with one of our friendly drivers and our experienced tour guide. Our journey includes a short sea crossing, from where you can see the famous White Cliffs and Dover Castle as we sail into France. From France we take the short drive into Belgium and head for Brussels, the Capital of the EU. Our driver will take us directly to our 4 star hotel right in the centre of Brussels where we stay for both nights. After you have settled into your comfortable hotel room, we will meet in the hotel reception and our guide will walk the group to the famous European Christmas Market and the Grand Place.
Every year the City of Brussels presents Winter Wonders in the Grand Place featuring a magical decor, illuminated Big Wheel, roundabouts, street activities, the famous skating rink and, of course, the famous Christmas Market. The market itself consists of 240 wooden chalets selling Christmas goodies, traditional craft items and various seasonal specialities!
Day 2
Day 2 - After breakfast, meet the tour manager at 9am and join the coach for our day trip to Germany, and the stunning Aachen Xmas Market. The city of Aachen is in the North Rhine area of Germany, and less than 2 hours from Brussels. Home to the famous Aachen Cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage site) the city is famous for its cobbled streets, thermal hot springs and stunning architecture. The market is held in the area around the 14th century town hall with illuminated stalls selling mulled wine, wooden toys and local specialities such as Printen (spicy gingerbread), fruity Christmas cakes, potato fritters and marzipan bread.
In addition to visiting the market we allow plenty of time to visit the Cathedral and the famous Aachen and Elisa fountains of this Roman Spa City.
We depart Aachen late afternoon to return to Brussels in time for dinner, and a night out in the European Union's capital city. Brussels is famous for a fantastic selection of restaurants, bars and cafes, and during the Christmas Market season as you wander the streets you can see concerts, plays, processions, travelling artists and much more. The city comes alive with the colour, tradition and spirit of the Christmas season.
Day 3
Day 3 - A morning of free time in Brussels. Your chance to go shopping for some Belgian specialities for Christmas, Beer & Chocloate! Or perhaps take a stroll to the Mannekin Pis (Flemish for Littel Man Pee!) dressed up in one of his many official costumes. We depart Brussels after lunch and make a short stop on the journey to Calais for some very cheap shopping (great deals on alcohol, tobacco and chocolates). We arrive back in Dover early evening 19:30-20:00, Kent drop offs between 20:00-20:30, in London 21:00-21:45 and Cambridge by 23:00/23:30.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
