Day 1

If you wish to breathe the purest air, La Tigra National Park is the perfect choice. It is a cloud forest with an area of 328 kms², located just 25 kilometers from Tegucigalpa. The first National Park of the country, it has a Visitor's Center with information about the plant and animal life inside it.

Our hike will take you on several trails, on which we will find a wide variety of vegetation- bromeliads, fern, moss, fungi; and the giants of the forest- oaks, encino, and pine. We will also see the ceibo, the sacred tree of the Mayans.

With a bit of luck we might see the Quetzal, sacred bird of the Maya, in their natural habitat, as well as many other birds enjoying a cool mountain climate.
