A visit to the Mekong delta is a 'must do' while in Vietnam. This comprehensive tour will give you an insight into life on the Mekong and its many tributaries.
Itinerary
Day 1
Ho Chi Minh : Vinh long : Can Tho (L)
We travel overland through beautiful countryside of Mekong Delta to Vinh Long province. On arrival, we take a boat ride to visit a local orchard and the Cai Be floating market, a famous place in Mekong Delta. Everyday, approximately 400-500 boats filled with fruits, vegetables and other local products anchor along the banks of the River, waiting for traders and customers. Here we can see local people being selling, buying, and exchanging goods from their boats. Leave Cai Be, we visit a local family producing coconut candy, a specialty of the region. After lunch with local delicacies, we transfer to Can Tho.
Overnight in Can Tho
Day 2
Can Tho :Chau Doc (B)
In the morning we cruise along the small and picturesque tributaries by rowing boat. We will see the
Cai Rang - Phong Dien floating market (the nicest one with heaps of rowing boats). Take in the beautiful scenery and the daily activities of the locals who live along the Mekong canals.
Then continue going to Chau Doc. Check in on arrival. In the afternoon, we will come to see the Thoai Ngoc Hau temple and climb up the Sam Mountain to enjoy the breath-taking view on the Vietnamese-Cambodian border with flat rice fields and nice canals.
Overnight in Chau Doc
Day 3
Chau Doc : Sa Dec : Ho Chi Minh city (B)
We will have a sightseeing tour in Chau Doc, enjoying a boat trip to visit a floating village and floating fish farms. Then depart for Sa Dec town, a river port and agriculture trading center along the Mekong River. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh city.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
