Itinerary

Day 1

Kathmandu-Zangmu or Nyalam
Drive early morning from Kathmandu to Nepal-Tibet border at Kodari. After immigration and custom formalities drive to Zangmu for entry into Tibet. Drive to Nyalam. Guest House.

Day 2

Nyalam - Old Tingri
Drive from Nyalam to Old Tingri crossing two passes Nyalam and Lalung la. Guest House (b/b).

Day 3

Old Tingri - Rongbuk Monastery
Drive from Tingri to Rongphu Monastery. Monastery Guest House (b/b).

Day 4

Everest Base Camp Hike
Optional day hike to Everest Base Camp situated at the foot of the Rongphu Glacier. Monastery Guest House (b/b).

Day 5

Rongbuk - Shigatse
Long days drive back over the passes to Shigatse. Hotel (b/b).

Day 6

Shigatse - Gyantse
Morning sightseeing tour in Shigatse and in the afternoon drive to Gyantse. Hotel (b/b).

Day 7

Gyantse - Lhasa
Drive from Gyantse to Lhasa crossing the two passes Karo la and Kamba la via Yamdrok Tso lake. Hotel (b/b).

Day 8

Lhasa Sightseeing
Guided sightseeing tour of Potala, Drepung monastery and Nechung Monastery. Hotel (b/b).

Day 9

Lhasa Sightseeing
Guided sightseeing tour of Jokhang, Barkhor, Tibetan Medical Center and Norbulinka. Hotel (b/b).

Day 10

Depart Lhasa
Drive to Gonggar Lhasa airport and fly to Kathmandu, Chengdu or Beijing.
