Itinerary
Day 1
KATHMANDU : ZHANGMU OR NYALAM (A.K.A. KHASA)
We depart early in the morning at 0500 hours from our hotel to Zhangmu on the famous Arniko Highway. The drive to the frontier check post of Kodari will take us approximately 5 hours and from there to Zhangmu will take us another 35/45 minutes. Overnight will be at simple lodging with basic facilities. (Alternatively depending on the time we reach Zhangmu, we may then drive another 30 kms to Nyalam, a small village in Tibet, where we shall stay at a simple lodge).
Distance: 122 kms Altitude: 1900 meters (Zhangmu) / 3900 meters (Nyalam)
Day 2
ZHANGMU : NYALAM or NYALAM
We drive after breakfast for the small town of Nyalam on steep switchback roads. The drive should take us about 1-½ hours. On arrival here, we will rest for the remainder of the day to help our bodies acclimatize to the high altitude. If we arrived here the previous day, we will still stay here to acclimatize. Overnight will be at a simple lodge with basic facilities.

Day 3
NYALAM : SAGA DZONG
After breakfast, we drive down to kilometer marker 615 and drive past Khunnmen Tso, Sinling and Karru Ochen Tso to PaiguTso. We will have great views of Tibet's highest mountain, the mighty Mt. Shishapangma (8012 m.). We stop here briefly to rest and take pictures before continuing our drive from the western side of the lake then turn north before reaching Saga. We will make camp nearby.

Day 4
SAGA DZONG : PARYANG
After breakfast, we continue our drive across the vast Tibetan plateau, heading west on the left bank of the Matseng Tsangpo River through the villages of Shue. We will make camp nearby.
Distance: 252 kms Altitude: 4650 meters
Day 5
PARYANG : HORCHU
As usual, we set out again after breakfast & cross the Paryang River, and enroute, we may come across the occasional herd of wild asses (Kang) and some nomadic tribes, before making a halt for the night at the settlement of Mayumla.
Distance: 87 kms Altitude: 5151 meters
Day 6
HORCHU : DARCHEN ( MT. KAILASH BASE CAMP)
As usual, we set out after Breakfast, climbing and crossing the Mayumla pass and through Rongyu Tso and Thongchen where we get our 1st, views of our objective
Kailas & Manasarovar, in the far distance. We drive past Lake Manasarovar to Darchen, our halt for the night, which is also, know as the base for the Kailas Parikarma.
Distance: 239 kms Altitude: 4588 meters
Day 7
HOLY MT. KAILAS PARIKARMA
We start our Parikarma of Mt. Kailas, after an early breakfast, and it will take a good part of 2 ½ days for us to complete. Those of you, not making the Parikarma, will move a short distance, to Lake Manasarovar, where we can perform our ablutions & prayers to Lord Shiva.Distance: 55 kms (Parikarma)
Day 8
HOLY MT. KAILAS PARIKARMA
We start our Parikarma of Mt. Kailas, after an early breakfast, and it will take a good part of 2 ½ days for us to complete. Those of you, not making the Parikarma, will move a short distance, to Lake Manasarovar, where we can perform our ablutions & prayers to Lord Shiva.Distance: 55 kms (Parikarma)
Day 9
Those of you are fit can walk to Inner Parikrama route and stay in Monastery Guest House
11: Visit Mt. Kailash Base and Nandi and on the way back glimps of Astha path O/N Monastery G. H
Day 10
MANASAROVAR : ZHANGMU
We come back as fast as possible using the same route we have traveled. Our last night in Tibet will be in Nyalam.

MANASAROVAR : ZHANGMU

NYLAM/ZHANGMU : KATHMANDU.END OF SERVICE
