The trek commonly called Around Nanga Parbat does not actually go all the way around Nanga Parbat. Instead it goes half way around Nanga Parbat beginning on the south side of Nanga Parbat from the tarashing in the rupal valley. the routes heads west of the rupal valley, and turn north to cross the Mazeno La to Zangot. from Zangot to routes exist. A shorter two days trek descends the Diamar and Bunar valleys to Bunar on the KKH. A more strenous rote heads north east from Zangot, crossing two more passes to Fairy Meadows in the Raikot Gah.

the Mazeno la known for its technical difficulties and rock-fall danger, primmarily on the north side of the of the pass. Experienced guides say most trekkers do not succeed crossing the Mazeno la. Hence, this should be attempted by only experienced trekkers which basically mountaineering skills. Bring atleast 300m of rope and crevases rescue gear along with proper equipment for your guide, trek crew and porters.
