Itinerary
Day 1
Chitwan National Park
In the morning, you'll arrive at Sapana Village on the edge of the Royal Chitwan National Park. We can arrange your transport to and from the park, either by the trusty Green Line Tourist Bus or by private car - just ask one of our travel specialists. Sapana Village is more than a hotel, it's an important employment project for the local communities. You'll also find small workshops where the indigenous and poorest part of the population, the Tharu, make and sell their handicrafts.
There are plans to build a library, a school and a medical post here. We're therefore very excited to have joined forces with Sapana Village in realising their plans by offering this very special jungle module, giving you a glimpse into the life of a Tharu tribesman. You'll start with a relaxing 'elephant bath'. Armed with a brush, you'll get to work scrubbing the dirt off the elephants, who'll clearly love all the pampering. Rest assured they'll give you a thorough rinse-off with their trunks once you're done! Once you've dried off, you'll head into the jungle with your guide. You're guaranteed a very warm welcome in the local Tharu village. The Tharus are the indigenous people of this jungle and they are also Buddhist. The enlightened prince's son Gautama Buddha was a Tharu himself. The Tharu will tell you all about the jungle and their way of life. Together, you'll prepare the evening meal and as the sun sets the fire will be lit, drums will begin to beat, and rice wine will flow. You can bet that the party will continue into the early hours...
You'll spend the night in a 'jungle tower' on the edge of the village. This house, built by the Tharu, is on stilts - so don't worry about any jungle wildlife paying you an unexpected visit in the middle of the night. Your room is basic but comfortable enough and you'll soon find yourself lulled to sleep by the sounds of the jungle...
Day 2
Chitwan National Park
It's an early start today, if you don't want to miss the beautiful sunrise over the forest. In the first light of day, the mist rises and the jungle begins to wake. Before long, you'll have a whole orchestra choir singing a dawn chorus to you. This time of day is fantastic for wildlife spotting. When you arrive back in the village your breakfast will be waiting for you - just what the doctor ordered after a morning hike through the jungle.
Towards noon, it's time to say goodbye to the Tharu and head on to Kathmandu or Pokhara. If you are eager to extend your wildlife experience, you can also stay in Chitwan and begin an elephant and rhino trip.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
