Perched on the back of a majestic elephant, you'll trek through the jungle to catch a glimpse of a rhino. You might also spot leopards & elephants so keep your eyes peeled & your camera close at hand.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Chitwan National Park This trip begins in Chitwan National Park. We can arrange your transport for you - all you have to do is ask. You'll get up early to reach the park from Kathmandu or Pokhara, and you can either take the brilliant tourist Green Line Bus or, if you would prefer, we can arrange private transfers. When you arrive, you'll be given a short briefing about wildlife and safety in the park, you can freshen up in your bungalow and grab some lunch.
In the afternoon, you'll have your first elephant safari. Perched high on the back of your gentle giant, you'll be safely out of reach of anything lurking in the tall grass. If you're lucky you'll spot a rhino, although there's a better chance of seeing them on foot on your walking safari tomorrow morning. If your trusty elephant spots a rhino, he'll sound the alarm with an almighty growl, just to let the rhino know who's boss...
Day 2
Chitwan National Park
Chitwan is at its most beautiful at dawn. The early morning golden light seeping across the plains gives it a mystical atmosphere. The river is even more magical. Working elephants stride through the water, a primitive ferry glides across the river and a solitary rhino grazes in the grass. Today you will start off with a guided walk through the jungle, hiking along narrow paths through the forests and plains where the high grass seems almost impenetrable.
It's a little scary knowing that this grass is a hiding spot for rhinos, leopards and tigers, but luckily the experienced guides know what they're doing. If a rhino gets too close you're quickly directed to scramble up the nearest big tree. And as sweet and harmless as those rhinos may seem, don't underestimate them. Because they have very poor eyesight, they tend to storm into any noise or smell they're not familiar with so it may be wise to follow your guide's instructions very closely. Depending on how the day unfolds, later on there will be a "crocodile walk" with a canoe trip or another elephant safari.
Day 3
Chitwan - Kathmandu of Pokhara Today it's another jungle walk or a crocodile walk, depending on what you did yesterday. After that (depending on your travel route), you'll begin the journey back to Kathmandu or Pokhara or you can extend your stay in Chitwan.

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
