Itinerary

Day 1

Kathmandu
On arrival into Kathmandu Airport, you'll be greeted by your driver and whisked away to our authentic hotel, just outside the centre of Kathmandu. Here, you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of this quaint little hotel with its large garden and rooms decorated in Nepalese traditional style. The owner has an artistic streak, as you'll be able to tell from the regular theatre performances, the portraits on the walls of the old wing, the Ayurvedic massage centre and the decorative detail around every bend. From the roof terrace, there's a fantastic view across the rooftops of Kathmandu. You'll sleep in a beautiful luxurious room in the new wing. The hotel is approximately 10mins walk from the city centre.

When you've freshened up and recovered from the inevitable jetlag, take a stroll around the area to soak up the typical Nepalese atmosphere and find a good spot to eat. Definitely check out one of the many rooftop restaurants Kathmandu has to offer.

Day 2

Kathmandu - City tour
You'll have plenty of time today to see Kathmandu with your guide. Your sightseeing tour will take you to Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Swayambunath. Take a seat on the steps of one of the many temples and just watch the locals going about their daily activities. You will also visit the temple complexes Swayambunath and Pashupatinath. The Bouddhanath temple, a Tibetan buddhist monument is one of the highlights of today's tour. It is one of the largest stupas in the world. You may feel all templed-out at the end of the day but you'll definitely have a better idea of the huge role that religion plays in Nepalese daily life.

Day 3

Kathmandu - Patan - Bhaktapur - Kathmandu
Today, you'll head out of the city with your driver to explore the surrounding area of Kathmandu. Your visit will include Bhaktapur and Patan and you can opt for an excursion to Nagarkot or Dhulikhel. Patan, just south of Kathmandu is known for its many ancient squares where rice is laid out to dry and children run around playing with paper kites. You will also spot lots of old-fashioned water pumps throughout the city. It's like being in a Medieval time-warp.

Day 4

Kathmandu
This morning it's check-out time and the end of the trip. If you would like to continue your Nepalese adventure with a trek, just let us know and we can organise this for you.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:

  • It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
  • If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
  • Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
