Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Vientiane the peaceful Capital of the People?s Democratic Republic of Laos (you may choose to fly in from Bangkok or arrive on the overnight train from Bangkok via the Friendship Bridge). On arrival your local English speaking guide will meet you for the transfer to your hotel. An afternoon City tour visits Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, Wat Prakeo, Wat Simuang, the That Luang Monument and Vientiane?s own Arc de Triomphe, the Anousavari Monument.

Day 2

(B) After breakfast transfer to the airport for a morning flight to the former royal capital, Luang Prabang. On arrival your local guide will meet you for the transfer to your hotel before setting out to explore this peaceful city. There is little traffic on the dusty roads and monks wearing orange robes fill the streets. Visit Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Sen, Wat Visun and Mount Phousi with panoramic views over the city can be included.

Day 3

(B) A boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit the Pak Ou caves. Thousands of gold lacquered Buddha Statues are crammed into the two caves carved out of the towering limestone cliff. They range in size from a few centimetres to the size of a human. Visit the riverside village where they produce rice wine then return to Luang Prabang for a visit to the former Royal Palace, now a national Museum. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4

(B) In the morning transfer to Luang Prabang airport for the flight back to Vientiane. Transfer to your hotel before a visit to the National Museum and local market to shop. Afternoon at leisure

Day 5

(B) After breakfast transfer to airport for your International departure flight.
