Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Delhi late night/early morning. Meet with us at the airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2
After breakfast, take a city tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit Red Fort and its palaces, Jama Masjid - the largest mosque in India, Raj Ghat - place of Mahatma Gandhi cremation, Jantar Mantar - the observatory. Drive through India Gate - the royal road, Rashtrapati Bhawan - The President House and relax your mind at the peaceful Lotus Temple - the Bahai Mandir. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 3
After breakfast, transfer to airport for a flight to Cochin. Arrive & transfer to your hotel. Evening at leisure in the city that is known as The Queen of the Arabian Sea. One of the most beautiful natural harbors is situated here. The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry is renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the ancient epic The Ramayana'. The Jewish Synagogue at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town, the St. Francis Church, the Santa Cruz Basilica, the huge Chinese fishing nets have their own attraction. Finally, the Willingdon Island, named after Lord Willingdon, is the headquarters of the Southern Naval Command of India is situated here as well. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 4
Backwaters are one of the unique attractions of Kerala, a chain of canals extending about 1500 kms, with a network of 44 rivers, lagoons and lakes. Most of it is naturally formed. It is easy to make yourself at home in this small yet very peaceful town. The panoramic backwaters here offer an ideal retreat to enjoy nature at its best. You can also enjoy ayurvedic massages and yoga lessons during your stay in Kumarakom. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 5
Get set for the moments that will approach you. You may take a boat ride into the countryside. Enjoy surfing on backwaters, sip a coconut, get disturbed by only the chirping of birds and occasional ripples in water and savor mouthwatering delicacies prepared in front of you by your Kitchen crew. If you are adventurous enough, you can indulge in water sports such as windsailing & water skiing. You can even take a canoe out into the quiet lakes. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6
Periyar National Park, a unique wildlife sanctuary is about 780 sq. km. It is centered on an artificial lake fed by the Periyar River. Getting to Periyar is as inspiring as the destination itself. A scenic journey past mist capped mountains, spice plantations and open grasslands lined with spectacular water falls and delightful trekking trails form the access to your hideway here. On arrival check into hotel, refresh yourself & be relaxed. Overnight in the hotel at Periyar.
Day 7
Today you might have an opportunity to meet tigers! Trekking with a local guide familiarizes you to the rare birds, trees & flowers. You can even set upon a walk through the plantations filled with the heady fragrance of fresh spice while a boat safari on the Periyar Lake extends a lifetime's chance to spot exotic wildlife at its natural habitat. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8
This beach town is probably the most important tourist destination in the state. The other attraction is the Ayurvedic health program offered by a various health centers and resort. Clean beaches and the powerful Arabian Sea swells are inviting and invigorating. And each night, local fishermen still row their boats out to sea.
Day 9
Early morning drive to airport for flight to Delhi. Arrive in Delhi and transfer to hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 10
After breakfast, drive to Agra THE TAJ CITY' and check in the hotel. Take a guided tour of the Taj Mahal. It took 20,000 workers from Central Asia and Europe and 22 years to construct this poem of love built by emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal - the same Taj that today stands proudly as one of the wonders of the world. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 11
After breakfast, drive to Delhi. The rest of the day is at leisure in Delhi for optional sightseeing and shopping in Delhi markets. In the evening visit Janpath (the Queen's Road), at leisure or visit famous Sikh temple (Gurudwara Bangla Sahib) in the center of Delhi. Late night/early morning transfer to Airport and depart from home with beautiful memories of India.
