Itinerary
Day 1
Arr. Dibrugarh by flight
Meeting upon arrival and transfer to Hotel Little Palace. Evening free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 2
Dibrugarh : Mon (210 Kms, 5 hrs drive with stop)
Morning after breakfast depart by car for Mon. En route stop at Moran for lunch.
Arrive at Mon and check in at Hotel Mountain View.
Mon: Mon district headquarters looks like a rural-urban town with admixture of palms leaves bamboo walled house and pucca houses. People with tattooed faces and blackened teeth come to sell their village produce in Mon town, which includes betel nut and an assortment of vegetables and handicrafts and makes an interesting sight to behold.
Dinner and overnight at hotel in Mon.
Day 3
Mon : Chui : Longwa
Early morning to Chui village.
Chui village: Chui village is situated about 8 Kms from the district headquarter of Mon. Though located on the Tuensang : Mon route and situated near a semi urban town of Mon, it still retains its old world charm. One can see some of the houses constructed in the true Konyak tradition with palm leaves roofing and the main pillars jutting out. Chui is also famous for things ethnic. The artistans and craftsmen of the village are not only good at bamboo and woodworks but are exparts in gun and gunpowder making.
Later return to Mon and after having breakfast depart for Longwa, which is 42 Kms from Mon. (3 hrs drive)
En route stop at the bank of river Tapi / Taphi and have the packed lunch.
Arrive Longwa and checked in at the Govt. Rest House.
Longwa: The beautiful Longwa village is ranked among the biggest villages in Mon. As the village straddles the international boundary line, one half of the Angh's house falls within the Indian territory and the other half in Myanmar . Here, literally, the totem pillar that juts out above the roof divides the house into two countries and the angh takes his meals in India and sleeps in Myanmar. The angh and the village council chairman administers the whole village.
Evening pay a visit to a Konyak house to witness the traditional culture.
Dinner and overnight at the rest house.
Day 4
Longwa : Mon (42 Kms, 3 hrs drive with stop)
Morning after breakfast visit chief Angh's house. After that departs for Mon.
Arrive Mon and check in at hotel.
Afternoon visit the Mon village which is 7 Kms from Mon town. In the village you can meet the King. He ruled 12 villages : Tanhai, Pongkonmg, Longkei, Leangnyu, Hongphoi, L/Shanghah, Phuktong, Oting, Tumei, Lapa, Upper Tiru and Lower Tiru.
Also visit the Morung where the village youths are being taught about the way of manly hood.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 5
Mon : Tuensang (175 Kms, 5 hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast departs for Tuensang. On the way you can have a glimps of Veda Peak which is the highest in the district.
Arrive Tuensang and check in at the Govt. guest house.
Tuensang: Tuensang is like a small Nagaland with six different tribes: Changs, Yimchungers, Khiamniungans, Sangstams and sumis. The tribes inhabiting the district are rich in cultural heritage and their dresses are very colorful.Their dances are rhythmic and songs are heartwarming. This area is known for its handicrafts and handloom products.
Evening free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the guest house.
Day 6
Tuensang : Mokokchung (97 Kms)
Morning after breakfast visit the Tuensang village.
Tuensang village has its own old world charm and here one can get a glimps of the cultural tradition of the Chang. Pay a visit to a Chang house and witness the manufacturing of the traditional handicrafts items.
Afternoon departs for Mokokchung, the headquarters of Ao Nagas. It is situated at an altitude of 1325 metres above the sea level.
Arrive Mokokchung and drive to the beautiful modern village of Mopungchuket and check in at the small but beautiful lodge constructed and maintained by the village youth of Mopungchuket.
Evening free at leisure.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 7
Mokokchung : Tuephema (119 Kms, 4 : 4 ½ hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast visit the Mopungchuket village.
Mopungchuket: This village lying near the permanenent Mission Centre of Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) is making attempts to revive the ancient Ao culture. Some efforts have been made to construct the Morungs, carve the Time Pillar and to preserve some artifacts in the village museum.
Later drive to Tuephema Tourist Village. En route visit Wokha, the Lotha and Angami tribe belt.
Tuephema: an ethnic Naga village reflects traditional Angami culture.
Evening free at leisure.
Dinner and overnight in the traditionally built cottages.
Day 8
Tuephema:
Morning after breakfast witness the traditional cultural show performed by local tribal people.
Dinner and overnight stay in ethnic Naga cottages at the village.
Day 9
Tuephema : Khonoma Village (65 Kms, 1 ½ hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast depart for the Khonoma Green Village.
Khonoma village: This villagewas known for its fighting prowess in the past. It is also known for the fallow management of its alder trees, which regenerates the soil in a shorter span of time as it has a nitrogen fixing element in its roots and balances nature in the surrounding areas. The beautiful terraces, which are carved out of the hill slopes surrounding the village, are a sight to behold. These terraces grow over 40 types of paddy at different elevations.
Arrive Khonoma and stay in a beautiful homestay, situated in the midst of pine trees.
Evening free to enjoy a nature walk.
Dinner and overnight at homestay.
Day 10
Khonoma : Benrue (41 Kms, 1 hr drive)
Morning after breakfast visit the Khonoma village. Also pay a visit to a Angami house to witness the manufacturing of traditional handloom and hanbdicraft items.
Later drive to Benrue
Arrive Benrue and check in at hotel in Benrue
Benrue: This village, which is tucked away at 1950 metres above sea level, is famous for its culture and has produced many prominent citizens. It is an important tourist destination in the district. People walk the steep hills upto the village from their agricultural fields down in the valley carrying their head loads with great agility and speed.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 11
Benrue : Kohima (40 Kms, 1 ½ hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast visit Benrue village.
Later visit Kohima, the state capital and the hill station which is situated at an altitude of 1444.12 metres.
Arrive Kohima and check in at Japhu Hotel.
Evening free at leisure.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 12
Kohima
Morning after breakfast visit
Kohima village: As you enter this village, you notice a number of traditional wooden gates with the scimitar of horns of Mithun. In this village, one comes across wooden carvings looking like horns atop some houses.You can also see relics of stone erections here and there in front of the houses which are memorial symbols of the grand feasts offered by their ancestors.
The Kohima War cemetery : It was constructed in memory of the officers and men who made supreme sacrifices during World War II. On each grave there are beautiful epitaphs engraved in bronze.
The state museum: It has a rare collection of artifacts of the different tribes, which inhabit the state. It depicts the different aspects of life of the people in all its varied forms.

Day 13
Kohima : Dimapur Departs.
Morning after breakfast in time drive to Dimapur.
Dimapur: This fast developing town is also the commercial center of the state, which is also having the only airport in Nagaland.
Arrive Dimapur and in time transfer to airport to board the flight for Delhi / Kolkata.
