Itinerary

Day 1

Cochin
Arrive at the Cochin (Kochi) airport. Cochin is the most interesting town in South India at Malabar Coast and is also known as Venice of South. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel in Cochin.

Day 2

Cochin
In Cochin we visit St. Francis church, the oldest European church in India in which the grave of famous sailor Vasco da Gama can be visited. After the visit of St. Francis Church we have a walk through the Jewish area of Mattancherry. Today the town of Cochin is divided in different parts namely, Fort Cochin, Willingdon Island, Ernakulam, Bolghatty Island and Vypeen Island. Most of the historic buildings are in Fort Cochin. We have whole day today at leisure so that we can explore Cochin on our own.

Day 3

Cochin - Alleppey
In the morning you will be picked up from the hotel for the cruise on the houseboat. In Alleppey you will enjoy the houseboat ride through the tropical vegetation on the backwaters. The shimmering waterways are composed of lakes, canals and rivers, and lined with dense tropical greenery, that preserves the life styles of rural Kerala. Overnight stay in the houseboat in Alleppey.

Day 4

Alleppey - Varkala
Today you will drive to Varkala beach. Varkala beach is is a famous seaside resort and spa, located about 41 kms. from Trivandrum. This beach is also an important Hindu pilgrimage center. After having a small break in the hotel in Varkala, visit the Varkala beach. The two major attractions of this beach are the 2000 year old Sree Janardhana Swamy Temple and the Nature Care Centre. High cliffs with rich mineral springs rise majestically from the coastline.

Day 5

Varkala - Poovar Island
Today you will drive to Poovar Island. In the Poovar Island, enjoy the backwaters and sea. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6

Poovar Island - Trivandrum
Today you will drive to the Trivandrum airport for the onwards journey or flight to home destination.
