Itinerary

Day 1

Cochin
Around midnight, arrive at the Cochin (Kochi) airport. Cochin is the most interesting town in South India at Malabar Coast and is also known as Venice of South. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel in Cochin.

Day 2

Cochin
Today the town of Cochin is divided in different parts namely, Fort Cochin, Willingdon Island, Ernakulam, Bolghatty Island and Vypeen Island. Most of the historic buildings are in Fort Cochin. Today we explore all these areas in Cochin and visit the St. Francis Church, where Vasco Da Gama was buried, Chinese Fishing Nets, Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace etc.

Day 3

Cochin - Thekkady (Periyar)
In the morning after having breakfast drive to Thekkady. On arrival drive to the hotel. Thekkady is a naturalist's paradise of unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. It has unspoilt tropical forests and incredible wealth of animal and plant life. Thekkady is well known for the Periyar National Park and the elephants are the major attractions here. In the afternoon, drive to the Periyar National Park. The Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world and also one of the largest and finest wildlife reserves in India. In the evening we have a boat ride on the Periyar lake and observe the activities of elephants, tiger, bison, wild oxen, wild boar and spotted deer. 

Day 4

Periyar
Today we will explore the surroundings on our own and visit the spice plantations like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee, tea estates etc.

Day 5

Periyar - Kumarakom
In the morning after having breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is the famous backwater tourist destination and most fascinating paradise in Kerala. On arrival drive to the resort. The whole day at leisure to relax and enjoy at the resort. 

Day 6

Kumarakom
The whole day is free to explore the scenery and natural surroundings in Kumarakom.

Day 7

Kumarakom
Today morning after the breakfast drive to a traditional houseboat of Kerala style and enjoy the cruise through the backwaters. The backwaters in Kumarakom houses a variety of fauna, flora and marine life. On the way you will see various local activities of the people living along the backwaters and also visit some of the tourist places on the way. The Backwater cruise from Kumarakam to Alleppey is the fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters. Overnight stay in the houseboat.

Day 8

Kumarakom - Alleppey - Mararikulam
Today after having breakfast, leave the houseboat at Alleppey and drive to Mararikulam. Mararikulam is a famous beach resort at the Malabar coast. On arrival drive to the resort. Rest of the day free to relax and enjoy the beach resort. 

Day 9

Mararikulam
The whole day is at leisure to relax and enjoy the beach with white sands. 

Day 10

Mararikulam - Cochin
In the morning after having breakfast transfer to Cochin Airport or Railway Station for the onwards journey or flight to home destination.
