Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive Bhubaneshwar city tour
Transfer from airport to Bhubaneshwar, Check-in hotel. Afternoon embark on tour of Raja Rani Temple Monument, fine example of the rock carving and sculptures on the temple. Visit Jain Caves Khandigiri and Uday giri, 3rd Century caves. Built by Jain Monks. day tour of Jain caves which were built by Jain Monks dating back to 2nd Century BC,.on the hills, 8 Kms from Bhubaneshwar. The caves are situated on two hills Udayagiri and Khandagiri, mentioned as Kumari Parvat in Hathigumpha inscription and face each other across the road. They have a number of finely and ornately carved caves. It is believed that most of these caves were carved out huge residential blocks for the Jain monks, during the reign of King Kharavela. Udayagiri meaning Sunrise Hill, has 18 caves while Khandagiri has 15 caves.Overnight
Day 2
Bhubaneshwar / Konark Sun Temple /Puri
After Breakfast. Proceed to the famous Sun (Konark) temple, built like a chariot The monument takes the form of the Chariot of SUN (Arka), the sun god, and is heavily decorated with stone carving. The entire complex was designed in the form of a huge chariot drawn by seven spirited horses on twelve pairs of exquisitely decorated wheels. With 12 wheels, known as the black Pagoda, witness the significance of ancient Oriya architecture. That took 12 years and 12000 people to build this huge monument.
Later visit the Chaitana village (Hub of Stone carving craftsman) and you can buy some enchanting pieces of stone carvings. Back to the resort and overnight stay
Day 3
Puri/Chilka lake / Puri
After Breakfast proceed to Chilka Lake (India's biggest inland lake, Birds' paradise and the Dolphin Island), where you can go for a boat ride to see the beautiful Dolphins, back to the resort, in the evening enjoy the Gotipua Dance (Orissa's oldest dance) at the resort and overnight
Day 4
Puri / Bhubaneshwar
After Breakfast check-out from the resort and proceed to Bhubaneshwar, on the way stop to see the artisans of Pipli (Famous for Appliqué work), then visit Dhauligiri (Japanese Temple), Dhauli to see the rock edict built during Kalinga era of Emperor Ashoka, now known as Orissa. End your Orissa journey at the airport, where you will board your flight
