Gujarat is counted amongst the most colorful and culturally rich states of India. Visit wonderful historic monuments and colorful vivid culture of Ahmedabad, Sasangir and Palitana places in India.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive - Mumbai - Ahmedabad (Flt: 9W-323 / 1850 - 1950 Hrs.)
You arrive in Mumbai by international flight.
Post breakfast we check out from the hotel and will leave for a half day sightseeing tour of Mumbai starting with the Gateway of India, the entrance to the port of Mumbai. It was built to commemorate the visit of King George V in 1911. Historically the Gateway holds greater significance as the last of the British troops, which left independent India by sea, marched through its portals. It is followed by the Elephanta Caves boat cruise from Gateway of India. The caves are at the top of a gentle stairway, which begins almost immediately where the ferry wharf hits dry land.
Later in the evening transfer to airport to board the flight for Ahmedabad. Upon arrival assistance and check-in hotel for overnight stay. (B)
Day 2
Ahmedabad
Jama Masjid, Ahmedabad Ahmedabad emanates a paradoxical notion in one's mind when one sees the conquests on this fortified city by the Mughals, Marathas, and British, being related to Mahatma Gandhi, the ambassador of Non-violence to the entire world.
Post breakfast our guide will take you for a half day city tour, covering Indo-Saracenic archetypal Mosques, Jama Masjid and Sidi Syed Mosque, followed by the painted Swaminarayan Temple.

Day 3
Ahmedabad / Jamnagar (300 km / 6 hrs)
After breakfast we drive to Jamnagar, a stopover between Ahmedabad and Dwarka, which sports the biggest oil refinery in India. Overnight stay. (B)
Day 4
Jamnagar / Dwarka / Jamnagar (85 km / 2 hrs, one way) Morning post breakfast we will leave for a full day excursion to Dwarka.
Dwarka, on the west coast of Gujarat on the shore of the Arabian Sea, features most of the legends surrounding of Lord Krishna. The main attraction at Dwarkadheesh Temple is spectacular evening prayers (Aarti). Another popular temple in Dwarka is temple of Rukmini, Krishna's wife, considered an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and beauty.
Day 5
Jamnagar - Junagarh (225 km / 5 hrs)
Morning post breakfast we drive to Junagarh. The city takes its name from the Fort which enclorsed the old city. This town is situated at the base of the temple studded Girnar Hill and is also the departure point for visits to the Gir Forest, known for the only surviving population of Asiatic Lions.
Upon arrival assistance and check-in hotel. Later in the afternoon our guide will take you for a half day city tour including Uparkot, It is said that this Fort was once besieged, unsuccessfully, for a full 12 years. In all, it was besieged 16 times. It is also said that the fort was abandoned from 10th to 12th centuries and when rediscovered it was completely overgrown by forest. Inside the fort is Jama Masjid, the tomb of Nuri Shah and two fine step-wells known as Adi Chadi and the Naughan. Next we will visit Ashok Edicts These 14 edicts were inscribed by Emperor Ashoka around 250 BC and testify the great antiquity of this place. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 6
Junagarh - Sasangir ( 65 km / 2 hrs.)
Girnar Hill Early morning we will visit Girnar Hill, 600m high. Girnar Hill is having the famous Jain temples. One has to climb 10,000 stone steps to make it to the summit. The sacred tank of Damodar Kund marks the start of the climb for the temples. Five of them are Jain temples including the largest and the oldest 12th century Temple of Neminath, the 22nd Jain Tirthankar. There is a large black image of Neminath in the central shrine and smaller images around the temple. (OPTIONAL)
Next we will depart for Sasangir. The Sasangir National Park is in the Kathiwad peninsula of Gujarat and is spread over 1412 sq km. It has the distinction of being the only refuge to the last surviving majestic Asiatic Lions (Panthera leo). It is home of about 300 lions and were on the verge of extinctions. The Park is a popular tourist destination, with some sixty thousand wide-eyed tourists visiting the Park in the hope of catching a glimpse of the proud and rare lion in 1999-2000. Apart from the Asiatic Lions, the Park is also home to large number of Panthers, Hyenas, Deer, the world's only 4-horned Antelope, Blue Bull, Wild Boar and the dangerous Marsh Crocodile.
Jeep safaris and wildlife photography are the favourite tourist activities here. Several machaans (watch towers) and hideaways have been raised near waterholes to allow visitors a closer look at the lions. On arrival we assist you to check in at our Hotel for overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 7
Sasangir (Two Jungle Safaris)
Before breakfast early morning (0530 hrs) jeep safari to the National Park. Another such safari is also scheduled in the afternoon (1500 hrs). Overnight stay at hotel. (B,L,D)
Day 8
Sasangir - Somnath ( 90 km/ 2 hrs)
Somnath Temple Morning post breakfast we drive to Somnath. The historic shore temple at Somnath is one of the 12 important Jyotirlingas of Shiva in India. A museum nearby has exhibits from the original temple before it was destroyed by invaders. Evening free to visit temples and Aarti. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)
Day 9
Somnath - Diu (75 km/ 2 hrs)
After breakfast we drive to Diu, erstwhile Portuguese colony off the Saurastra coast of Gujarat. Golden beaches, palm groves, old churches and monuments, etc are highlights here. On arrival we assist you to check in at our hotel for a leisurely evening and overnight stay. (B)
Day 10
Diu
Today we leave for a half day sightseeing of Diu and we visit the battlement of Diu Fort, the wood panelled St.Paul's and St.Thomas' Churches. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay. (B)
Day 11
Diu - Palitana - Bhavnagar (225 km / 5 hrs)
Early morning post breakfast we drive to Palitana. It is worth an effort to climb this 610m high hill and visit the famous Shatrunjaya Jain Temple Complex, which has 863 Temples with arches, carved pillars, and bejeweled idols ranging from 11th to 20th century. Later we drive to Bhavnagar, another rich princely city, and on arrival we assist you to check in at our Hotel. Overnight stay. (B)
Day 12
Bhavnagar - Mumbai (9W-3412 / 0915-1025 hrs)
After early breakfast on time transfer to airport to catch the flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival assistance and check-in hotel. Rest of the day at leisure and overnight stay at hotel. (B)Day - 13 - Depart Mumbai
