Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Tbilisi : Tetritskaro-Tsalka-Tabatskuri-Bakuriani (300 km) off road 250 km
After breakfast in Tbilisi hotel, depart for Bakuriani skiing resort (1650m above sea level).
Full day exploration of Kartli heights. Mostly we will drive on off-roads in the picturesque villages Tetritskaro-Tsalka-Tabatskuri lake, Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park certified by Pan. Picnic lunch near the lake.
Evening drive to the Ski resort Bakuriani for O/N in the hotel.

Day 2

Day 2: Bakuriani-Akhalkalaki :Vardzia-Borjomi (200 km) off road 100 km
Drive to the Spa city Borjomi, visit the National Park, where we can taste famous mineral spring water Borjomi. Borjomi is a very nice spa, even Stalin used to stay there. Borjomi served as Russian King's residence. This day offers travelers an opportunity to explore 12th c cave city Vardzia, carved into the volcanic rocks on 13 levels, linked inside by internal corridors, secrete tunnels, painted chapels. All day we will drive along different medieval fortresses by Kura riverside and have the picnic lunch on our way. The rout is picturesque and pleasant. You will enjoy full day exploration of Javakheti region. Picnic lunch near the site.

Day 3

Day 3: Borjomi-Kutaisi-Enguri (350 km)
After breakfast we travel to the West via Rikoti pass : the land of the Golden Fleece.
We can make several stops on our way: there is a pottery market on the driveway, selling baskets, honey, mushrooms.
Drive to the second largest city in Georgia: Kutaisi, famous for its hospitality, delicious cuisine and special dishes such as Imeretian cheese pie. Lunch in traditional Georgian restaurant. Visit Synagogue and fruit market, two UNESCO world heritage sites: splendid Bagrati Cathedral ruins (11th c), located in Kutaisi city center on top of the hill and Gelati Monastery and Academy (12th c) with beautiful mosaics inside, situated 8 km from Kutaisi.

Day 4

Day 4: Enguri- Becho- Mestia (200 km) off road
Engurhesi is the jumping point to the beginning of Svaneti trip. After o/n stay and Breakfast in Engurhesi hotel 2*, we will drive to Mestia : very picturesque and dramatic drive along the Engury River. It takes about four hours drive, the road is off road. On the way visit Enguri dam, the highest dam in Europe (274 m)

Observe picturesque views along the River Enguri. In most cases we will drive on ground roads among dramatic cliffs and narrow canyons of roaring Enguri River and waterfalls. Drive to the little village Becho, and from there make picnic stop under Guli Glacier.

On the way visit little churches in villages Latali and Lenjeri with excellent 10th-12th cc frescoes. The route follows the right bank of the river and you may observe magnificent Ushba peak on the south. We will drive on narrow tracks through coniferous and mixed forests.

Day 5

Day 5 Mestia-Ushguli-Mestia (off road 150 km)
After breakfast in the guesthouse optional visit Mestia State Museum - amazing collection of medieval golden and silver icons, manuscripts from 9-10th c and ethnographical implements; You will also look at little churches from 10th c with well preserved unique frescoes inside. After our cultural adventures we will start aesthetic stroll into the alpine pastures and enjoy magnificent views of Mount Ushba and Tetnuldi. Drive to Ushguli : the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe.
You will find yourself in the realm of medieval towers, surrounded by the mountains of Great Caucasus Range, glaciers, high peaks and roaring waterfalls. The way to Ushguli is extremely attractive. You will cross little villages Ipari and Kala, where the spirit of medieval life is too strong.
Dinner and overnight in Mestia

Day 6

Day 6: Mestia-Nokalakevi-Khoni- Tskaltubo-Kutaisi. (350 km)
After the breakfast drive to Nokalakevi, Samegrelo region to visit archaeological sight. Next stop in Tskaltubo mineral springs and drive back to Kutaisi for overnight.

Day 7

Day 7: Kutaisi-Tbilisi
Breakfast at the hotel
Drive to Tbilisi (220 km approximately 3 hours drive)
Evening city tour.

Day 8

Day 8 Tbilisi
Farewell lunch in Georgian traditional restaurant
Departure
Transfer to TBS Airport
